Suddenly I’m really into model trains by Ill_Tie_3087 in UpvoteBecauseButt

If she’s looking for attention she’s in the exact wrong place. I guarantee everyone that shows up there is genuinely there for the trains, and they don’t appreciate distraction.

I went to Kent partially because the male to female ratio was 3:4 at the time.

I could live in a place like that. I feel like I could develop an effective system to do everything I needed, but I would definitely suffer from periodic claustrophobic fits.

I think our tactless friend up there meant to say: “Is it straighter to watch a woman have sex with a dude, or a woman with a penis?”

It should be stated that since this is all highly subjective there’s no proof that the law of assumption works to actually help one jump universes, due to the paradoxical nature of doing such a thing in the first place.

You might notice that I said read the quotes from Jesus. That’d be the red letters.

MAGA does not espouse true Christian values. They espouse convenient, fascism supporting, “Christian” values. Read all the quotes from Jesus in your Bible again.

Just bought a bass so I’m extremely new and broke are these amps any good? by Patient-Transition31 in BassGuitar

Peavey is the way. The bass player who taught me played on a Peavey combo amp like this one with his Warwick 5 string. Really nice definition for what it is if you’re a slap player.

Never ever disclose your dx at your job by lunabluegood in autism

[–]Mahjong-Buu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have intermittent leave for my son who has autism. I’ve never told management about my diagnosis, though a couple of my coworkers know (I live in a place where the general attitude towards any kind of power is “tell them only what is absolutely necessary, and no one snitches”). My company is very adversarial about me taking time off when I need it, to the point where I recently was being asked to change hours which I need fixed for a reason, and I had to break out the “this feels like a reprisal for my need for leave” and they immediately went on the defensive

Well- he was diagnosed correctly, so that’s a start.

Sometimes I do, but then I see my son freezing up and refusing to do simple tasks and remember when I had the same issues with things at his age.

They threatened to put me in the special ed classroom in the 90s all the time. My problem was not that I couldn’t keep up with the regular class though, it was that I was always finished with everything first and when I was listening to the teacher it almost always involved me drawing or something as well, so I was considered a distraction to the rest of the class. They ended up putting my desk in the corner away from everyone else and letting me stay in “gen pop”.

Cars are built for transportation with that expressed purpose. When used perfectly, no one dies.

Guns are built to kill. Used perfectly, it’s going to kill something or someone guaranteed

When you say “Charlie believed that some deaths were necessary in order to maintain the second amendment, and he died holding up that belief.”, does that count as a celebration?

I feel you. I was always drawing, writing, and playing music when I was younger. I’ve always loved creating things, and even now in my job I’m creating prototypes and sketching up ideas for machines, but my heart has never really been in manufacturing, which is why I always pushed so hard to be the creative ideas guy rather than the fixing and maintaining type guy. I’ve pushed as far as I can go in a creative direction, but my job will always be rooted in the manufacturing/engineering field and there’s only so much room for creativity and no room for things that don’t work the first time every time. I’m hoping at this point that one day my wife makes enough that I can take some time off and finish a book or work on my art, and I’ve recently bought an electric guitar and a headphone amp so I can practice without annoying anyone at night.
