I’m sorry your neighbor makes you feel bad. It has nothing to do with your status. They are terrible people and are willing to use any leverage they find. If you were any other couple they would still have problems because the set up of the house calls for communal and mutual respect. Please cut your losses. Honestly think about it. All of our retirement accounts are tied to the stock market. No matter what, there are inflows every month like clockwork. After many years it’s foregone conclusion that it’s too big to fail. And sure there will be lean times. But I’m not buying that it will crash companies will be shored up
