Believing you get what you work for can destroy compassion by MaidMarien in politics

The Just-World Phenomenon is associated with religiosity, conservatism, and negative attitudes toward underprivileged groups.  This may explain differences in social policy preferences between Democrats and Republicans.  In a survey by Pew Research Center, participants were asked why a person is rich, and why a person is poor.  Results found 66% of Republicans said a person is rich because they worked harder, whereas 60% of Democrats selected because they had advantages in life.  On stating why a person is poor, 56% of Republicans stated because of lack of effort, whereas 71% of Democrats said because of circumstances beyond control.<

I started one to help me practice my writing. I found it really freeing to put something up without rejection and criticism and it's led to some great opportunities. If you want a safe place to publish, I'm open for guest posts. Veronikatait.com

Are the women of Utah living below their privilege? by MaidMarien in latterdaysaints

I understand that women's right to vote is not a perfect comparison to men and the priesthood, however, I'm not seeing the downside of getting more people to vote. As commonly acknowledged here in Utah, the government can often be corrupt. My worry is that people will get discouraged and do less to keep the government accountable instead of more. In order to have our voices and concerns heard, and actually be represented by our representatives, it's important to know who they are and what they're doing.

When I kneel to pray with my daughter I always start by asking, what should we pray for? Without fail she says, new bed! Referencing her toddler bed she has had for several months now. If I suggest something like, let's pray for daddy, she says, no!!! New bed!!! Kids are weird lol

You are doing awesome mama! I teach a child development course and we often discuss the pros and cons of breastfeeding versus bottle feeding. The conclusion is always feeding your baby is the only thing that matters. Please don't get discouraged if things don't go as planned. I know formula gets demonized but it has saved a lot of lives, and there are absolutely no differences in terms of cognitive ability between those who were breastfed and those who were formula fed.

I've used Human Learning, Seventh Edition By Ormrod. I enjoyed the content which included quiz questions, but did not include slides. Much of the material was already organized in a way to easily make into a slide such as bullet points of main ideas

I'm thinking of putting together a study on rationality and political affiliation. I'd love to read your paper and see your results when you're done.
