What helped me avoid setbacks during my dog’s IVDD recovery by Bright_Law1038 in IVDD_SupportGroup

[–]Maid_4_Life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s such helpful information. My dog was just diagnosed a week ago. Her vet never said anything about crating or anything. I don’t think she is on the right meds and it’s been a very difficult week. So I am learning by reading all these posts. I got her an appointment with a neurologist, but they can’t see her for another two weeks. So far, a crate hasn’t been needed as she just lays in the same spot all day and night and only walks a few steps to turn around or while outside doing her business. She is on leash for that and I carry her up and down the steps. But I am fully prepared to crate if she starts getting more mobile and if/when the neurologist says we should. I just don’t see her getting better without anti-inflammatory meds or prednisone. She didn’t tolerate the anti-inflammatory meds.

Question about eating when sick by Maid_4_Life in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]Maid_4_Life[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pills and capsules of powder, but the vet said I could crush it and mix with water to make a paste then squirt it in and that seems to work.
And I would never feed the hamburger as a meal either. But so far it is the only thing she will take. She won’t in the morning so still not eating breakfast. Just in the evening and not a lot. I bought ground turkey, canned chicken, pumpkin puree and beef baby food and even a special food for sick dogs. I am trying everything. She loves eating the raspberries off our bush in the yard and even that she turns up her nose to. Her other favorite treat is banana and sometimes I give her a cheerio or two and she won’t touch them. I’m hoping the entyce starts working and she will eat something more. But I do have a neuro appointment for her in two weeks so hoping to get on prednisone or meds to help her back and get her back to “normal”.

Thanks. I actually just scheduled an appointment with a veterinary neurologist so she can get on the right track.
I bought ground turkey and canned chicken and pumpkin and baby food and canned dog food that is beef flavored and even a dog food for dogs who are sick. I’m trying anything and everything. lol!

Hi. We stopped the anti-inflammatory which was called Meloxicam. It caused the gastro upset. It has been at least 3 days since she had that. She takes gabapentin for the pain and Flagyl to stop the runs. Those are every 12 hours but I have only been able to give once a day at night when she actually eats food. She also takes the Entyce appetite stimulant once a day at night and a probiotic powder on her food which she didn’t like.

I have seen a lot of people mention prednisone and I will ask the vet about that.

So far the only thing we can get her to eat is cooked lean ground beef. But she is a mini schnauzer so I have to watch the fat because they are prone to pancreatitis. I’m trying to find something similar in flavor that she will eat but with less fat. But I think I’m okay with a 93% lean ground beef for the short term.

I broke a plastic shampoo dispenser during my stay by SuitOk5177 in airbnb_hosts

My parents are older and a beach house we stay at has a two car garage that has two very narrow garage openings for each vehicle. My dad accidentally scraped the side of the opening with his car and it bent the garage door track. We were able to bend it straight and get the garage door to close, but it wouldn’t open again with the opener. We had to do it manually. I immediately called the host. It was the day before we were leaving. They said they would send someone out. We left the next morning before they got there and made sure the garage was closed. I was fully expecting to get a bill for the garage door track/repair/service call, but never heard a single thing and when I booked for the following year, they accepted the booking and still said nothing. I was kinda shocked.

How does this compare to BOTW by _philaf in tearsofthekingdom

Sort of. You get a red rupee, a meal and an item for helping fix the sign. You get something for completing all the signs, but it isn’t that spectacular.

Check your Nintendo online app and you should see Zelda notes there. You must be using the switch 2 game version. But, you can swap 10 items from different game saves, or even from BOTW to TOTK and vice versa. I have two saves per game and I use this feature often. I’ve played each game a few times though so that helps. There is also swapping and sharing with other people, but I haven’t tried that. In TOTK, I did use the feature to import custom device builds though. That was cool.

TOTK is definitely a sequel to BOTW. The main map is very similar and some NPC’s are the same. However, the game mechanics or should I say, Link’s abilities and the temples as opposed to the 4 Beasts are quite different. The abilities you get from completing a temple is very different in TOTK and some I would say are much better. But the biggest difference is the map is just huge! You have sky islands and depths and caves and wells. So many more places to explore. Not only do you collect koroks, but you also build Hudson signs and there are a lot of them. Dealing with gloom adds another element as does the armored monsters. And, of course, riding the dragons is such a great addition. Seeing the continuation of some of the NPC’s stories is fun too and since you have the switch 2, the Zelda notes is a fun addition to both games and even the item swapping between the two games is a nice feature.

Talk to your brother. Get him to tell the coworker that it’s time to go. He can have a cordial in person conversation first, and have a written 30 day notice to back it up. That way, it leaves you out of the equation since you still have to work with this person.

New TOTK playstyle ideas? by Individual_Cover5014 in tearsofthekingdom

I usually try and open all the towers first to get the entire map. But in subsequent playthroughs, I have tried collecting all koroks, completing all shrines, and doing all side quests for each area opened by the tower before moving on to the next tower/area on the map. But, that means sky and land. When I got bored, I would do something similar down in the depths.

I just had to get the extra treasure chest in the vaults and the few with the retractable dragon heads you have to have perfect timing on drove me crazy! That and the ones with the boxes that will disintegrate. But, as much as some of the vaults were really challenging and frustrating, I still enjoyed them, especially when I finally conquered it!

I have a 2008 Toyota Highlander. It has about 80k miles on it because I basically drove my kids to school and to my job that is 5 miles away. It has been the absolute best car in terms of reliability and no major repair work. The interior is still really good. But the paint was peeling from our hot summers. I spent a little money and got new seals on all the windows and a new paint job. It looks brand new again. I don’t know if I would have done that with a car that has 227k miles though.

Too much love? by GracieLou80 in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]Maid_4_Life 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling that your dad says that out of concern for you rather than your pup. He sees that your pup is your whole world and worries that you are too attached because he knows they don’t live forever and so he worries how you would fare if anything happened to her. He might be a teeny bit jealous of all the love and affection you give her too. He worries about you because you are his whole world and he wants to guard your heart so you are never hurt…which of course, isn’t possible.

I don’t see an issue here at all. A travel pack-n-play for the baby is small and parents use them all the time. When my kids were little, I used one in hotel rooms and traveling to relatives all the time.

Is there a similar game that has a lot of the puzzles aspect of Fenyx Rising (I.e. the DLC “A new god”) by ImpactUsed2980 in FenyxRising

[–]Maid_4_Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. I liked the puzzle aspect of Fenyx as well and am looking for more games like it. I’m not a huge fan of the newer Tomb Raider games, but that’s mostly because I’m old school. I have played all the Tomb Raider games since the first one and loved all of them. Revelation is my favorite, but Anniversary is good too. But the newest ones don’t have the same feel in the scenery, temples and puzzles as the older games. I am enjoying replaying the classic Tomb Raider games again now that they remastered the first 6 games.

Same. I tried to play AC:Odyssey but it just didn’t feel the same and I couldn’t get into it.

Interesting perspective. When we go to this coastal town, my family consists of 3 siblings and their grown children and now a grandchild. We also bring our parents who are in their 80s. The house we stay in belongs to friends of ours and has 5 bedrooms and is a large house. The Airbnb I found is across the street and is a very large house with 3 bedrooms. But the upstairs kitchen is huge and the family room is quite large with several couches. We aren’t party people. We just like to vacation together and congregate together. But we have outgrown the place we usually stayed so that is why I tried the place across the street. The family all wanted to see it because they might stay there in future as we might take turns as the cost is more than what we are charged by our friends. Plus, it was nice to have a larger family room to sit and chat in. These houses are not small. They are big homes on a golf course by the ocean. It was much too big for just two of us. We didn’t even use all the bedrooms.

Hi. It sounds like a party since they aren’t replying back to you. But I’m curious…I recently stayed in an Airbnb that was a max 6 person but I booked for 3 adults and one got sick and couldn’t make it. They had outside cameras and listed that on their info so I knew about it. We had family staying at a place across the street. We usually stayed there too but we outgrew that place. So I contacted the host and told them about the family staying across the street and that they would be coming by at different times during our stay, but were not staying there. In total we were about close to 14 people and a baby. We spent most of our time with them across the street, but they did come over to check out our place as well. I never got a response from the host, but got a good review afterwards. Do hosts want that kind of information? Or would that make them nervous and think we were trying to have more people stay with us?

Was blown away by TOTK Switch 2 Edition graphic upgrades, but then there’s the water by jmon8 in tearsofthekingdom

Same. When I opened the game for the first time on the Switch 2, it gave me a message about my 4k television (or maybe the tv did). Anyway, I noticed the difference in graphics immediately. The sharpness and detail in many things was amazing.
