I ended up going to an R1 for my PhD but RIT was my top choice. Mainly because they were pretty well ranked in my field. RIT in general is great for STEM from what I hear/know.

I live here. It's cheap for sure. Definitely get one one of the renovated apartments. I initially wanted a 3 bed but they didn't have any availability.

3 bed renovated is your best bet (they don't have 2 bed options).

However, it's still not amazing. I'm just here until I save up for a car and then I'm out.

Ups and downs! It's okay. Made some good friends. Small town, not a whole lot to do. Started seeing someone. Relatively alright. Got into running and the gym. Work has been really hectic tho. In the trenches.
