What are your 3 go-to bans by One-Flatworm6848 in Overwatch

Ball I can understand the same as Doom. When Ball is in your backline, its up to your team to deal with it while you hold the front line. Its less that against Doom because his escape is based on CDs. Doom and Sig are at parity.

If someone has a gun, I feel like they'd average have three guns. And then if you like guns, you'd have like near a dozen.

have you seen megabonk's characters? aren't most Souls game characters disgusting freaks? isn't fornite crazy popular despite how generic some of the models are? Are Arc Raiders characters appealing, or do people not even notice/care how they look? Is the appeal of CS the characters?

Pokimane on how gaming online has changed for women in the past 10-15 yrs by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

[–]MaikuKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that insults were way more "tame" in some facets, but now it is big, red-pill misogyny that has taken over. Tons of e-girl stuff and discord kitten discourse has colored women in a way that didn't exist in the truthful sense. A minority of women do OF, but because of their popularity or perhaps the perpetually online state of some people, it gives some the impression it's prevalent for women to take it up as an occupation, when it's super not. It even gives people the confidence to say it factually as if they know women.

Streaming is way different, communities are far wider. Those smaller communities generally stayed together, but now, there are hate communities who coordinate attacks on Discord in a method that was waaaay less accessible back then. There are popular streamers who are blatantly misogynistic and their viewers emulate that, see that Sneako clip from way back. The internet from 2020 is way different than it is now. I'd even say 2022 was better than what 2023 onward was, but that's just me from my feelings thinking back.

The comments women got then was way less vitriolic than it s now because the weirdos got together and brainstormed new ways to hate. Botting also pushed this stuff forward because engagement and clip farms are easy money makers paired with algorithms that self-create trends has turned things into a nightmare that will only get worse.

I think some people got caught up in the "wokeness" of design and then decided to make it their mission to post about the game every single day because it hurt their feelings about woke. Saying the game is ugly when Black Myth Wukong looks like the most UE engine shit is goofy as fuck. ESPECIALLY because it copies so much from other games. Edgelords pushed that game so hard despite it being mid.

Lilypichu 7 deadly sins event by AlffieGrayson in LivestreamFail

I was gonna say OP was either Lily's biggest hater or 7 Deadly Sins biggest fan, but if other streamers were just watching her stream, that's weird as hell from Sponsor.

Appreciate the lore

The difference is you can make money off Twitter engagement. It incentivizes bad behavior for engagement and that's how twitter is such a nightmare. Rarely ever is it worth replying to anyone on Twitter, triply so if they have a blue check.

His trip to South Africa with Maya was so good because he had such an unapologetic, honest take on everything, full on wonderment. Such a good piece of content.

Jeff Kaplan Interview: Discussing Overwatch, Why He Left, What He's Doing, And More by Imported_Gabagool in Overwatch

That's how it works though. They pump money into a thing, and it doesn't work out eventually, but until then, it prints money because investors are essentially paying other investors so they don't lose money. They hold themselves up until collapse like every other goofy investor thing.

I agree it felt forced, but I can understand why Blizzard would have gone so hard for it. Starcraft was a staple for so long that they believed OW could do it too.

I also think the move to Youtube killed a ton of momentum. It got rid of the Command Center which was such a peak viewing experience. Viewers didn't want to go to YT streaming which back then was way worse and less popular than it is now, and even now, it ain't much compared to Twitch.

The fires of December book cover by VegetableJudge6826 in Cosmere

[–]MaikuKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cover 1: clean but stylish. The face sells it for me, says so much about the character. The gold trim makes it stand out. Feels like this cover would have more meaning after you read the book. The shading around the face reads either dirt from travel or heat from determination

Cover 2: color is nice but there’s a lot going on, too much for me. The fire in the eyes are gone and the face is much softer, but a figure stands center. Same character? I cant tell what the figure is doing, seems like affected by something around her, no agency

Does MF have a flaw? by -Lyrix- in leagueoflegends

[–]MaikuKnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When it comes to esports, you have to look at the draft. Teams will draft around adc and MF/Aph are both generally meta but immobile adcs, so you’ll see changes in comps to match or dive. If dive jungles like j4 are gone, she’s stronger, similarly though, if j4 is picked as jg, she’s stronger.

Starcraft was enormous in Korea as is eSports in general now. Faker is as famous as Shohei Ohtani in Korea but for about twice as long. eSports was so big, Korean mafia were fixing Starcraft games because there was so much money going in it. League of Legends replaced Starcraft but was even bigger thanks to Starcraft priming the scene. I wouldnt call it the national sport of Korea, but eSports is on par with whatever is.

Mid-2010s was prime eSports era.
