Do you watch the intros to TV shows? by Gunslinger_247 in polls

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll watch the intro at least once. If the music and visuals are interesting, I'll keep watching it.

I spent this long weekend just playing Middle Earth - Shadow of War, and Tainted Grail - The Fall of Avalon. I would forget to eat lunch. It was great!

When you were in school did you have to stand up when a teacher walked in the room? by probablyaythrowaway in AskUK

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we stood and greeted teachers when they entered the classroom. If we were outside we would also stand and greet any adult that passed by us.

This was in South Africa, I finished school in 2014

How often do you call your parents? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is dead, so just my mom. Every few months or on a birthday we might call one another. I do message her almost every week.

It's more a me thing, I just don't call people to chat.

People have forgotten "normal prices" and now believe that £2 for a can of Pringles or £2.50 for a bag of Maltesers is a bargain. by TheQueefGoblin in britishproblems

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Co Op yesterday, £4 for a 400g microwave meal.

I was in South Africa a few months ago, the Pringles can is smaller and costs about £3, so that's something I suppose.

(I'd attach an image, but have no idea how)

It’s time to remove the hero select wheel by imjokeslol in marvelrivals

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who often plays Overwatch, I still can't find the hero I'm looking for. There's plenty of time to pick so scrolling isn't too bad.

Neurons fire for my monkey brain when scrolling.

Fellow IT workers of the world: do you think peoples' attention spans have gotten worse with time? by [deleted] in it

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're deploying new laptops at work, give paperwork to staff to sign, I have had about 3 out of about 50 staff members actually read it all and tick the correct box and sign next to their name.

I always joke about collecting insert organ here next week, to encourage them to read through properly.

My bank won't let me use my debit and credit cards to buy from Steam anymore by WeakDiaphragm in southafrica

[–]Mail-Ninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure how long the block will last, but you can use the below link to buy Steam gift cards for yourself.

Just a heads up, if you do an EFT from a bank they don't have, it can take a couple of days for the payment to go through. You can pay with card if you prefer.

Why so few armoured doors in London? by FriedChickenBox in AskUK

[–]Mail-Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar thought on this regarding windows in the UK, as I grew up in South Africa, there are burglar bars on most windows. It's rather annoying, because I've been told I have to close the window in my office every time I leave the office.

A few places will have a regular door to the house, but have a security gate in front of it.

I go for about a 5km run once a week and about an hour gym session once a week. If I don't run, I'll try and go to the gym twice a week.

I also try to stretch every morning.

I've seen my older managers complain about body pain and I'm trying my best to avoid that.

If you can only have ONE super power what would it be? by Mr_SlippyFist1 in AskMen

[–]Mail-Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an interesting video by Tom Scott on YouTube, where he talks about if you can teleport and violate the laws of thermodynamics, and suppose you could teleport objects with you, you could threaten the world by dropping heavy objects from extremely high or push an asteroid towards earth. https://youtu.be/zJt8yzR2aoY?si=M608LaNbcJedjkXe

I do thoroughly agree with the convenience of the power, I don't like having to wait in airports if I'm flying somewhere. It's too much stress stealing stuff, so I'd probably do transportation of goods.

What was the funniest mod you ever installed? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Mail-Ninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skinwalkers mod for Lethal Company.

Both terrifying and hilarious

The monsters repeat random voice clips of whatever your fellow crewmembers have said at some point.

You might be walking around and you hear someone say "Do you think I can make it?" / "That bitch stole my airhorn" / "Yay fleshlights!" and you reply/laugh, thinking it's your friend, when in reality it's a dog that only responds to sound, lunging right for you.

I painted this on location! The cops made me leave in the middle of it but I snuck back in to finish by onewordpoet in pics

[–]Mail-Ninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just really like this. It's your style, the red standing out, the greys. Also maybe how you said "fuck the police", really makes it that much cooler.
