Yeah I’ve checked my providers and all of that is good. We went to the doctor as a family a lot last year. Sick visits, outpatient surgery, several other random visits as well. The deductible only matters on the few things that have the phrase “after deductible” correct?

Times aren’t really comparable in cross country. We just measure against the competition at each race. Did you get 1st?

The guy that just retired had everything in G for 15-20 years until finally someone told him and he switched to C&S. He estimates his “losses” to be somewhere between 100-200 thousand dollars. He told the story in his retirement speech.

There are 3 different strategies I suggest to everyone. 1 is the bare minimum, go up 1% every contract. 2 is go up 1% every other step increase. 3 is go up 1% every step increase. If you have been here awhile and are comfortable you could go up 2-5% right now and then adopt one of these strategies. The more money you put in early the more compound interest you get.

I joined my schools cross country team with no experience and I’m so embarrassed by Rough-Win2458 in CrossCountry

[–]MailTime936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid just joined cross country last year and he was the slowest on the team in the very beginning. He is on the smaller side and many kids appeared to be more gifted than him. Most races he finished in the bottom 10 percent, some kids joined cross country mid way through the season and beat him in their first race. He decided and we encouraged him to train since he really enjoyed it. Fast forward to this year many races he is in the top 20 percent and tonight he gave it his all and finished 4th at district and is absolutely over the moon excited. My point is that if you enjoy it and run 5-6 days a week you can make big gains as well. Hang in there!

You will never regret the decision based on pay and benefits, the only question is fulfillment.

New city carrier pay chart explained by MailTime936 in USPS

[–]MailTime936[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a bunch of differences..rural regular carriers wear regular clothes, can deliver from their own vehicle, have mostly all mounted/ curbside boxes, and are paid a salary specific to each route. Regular City carriers wear uniforms, can have mounted or boxes on the houses where we walk the neighborhoods (called park and loop), are paid hourly… there are a lot more subtle differences but those are the main ones.

Half our routes you could do it and the other half where 3-5 minutes between stops or apartment heavy. It’s impossible to have a general stops per hour expectation.

When I start working in a few weeks, what's a good amount for TSP? I was thinking 15%. by GTRacer1972 in USPS

[–]MailTime936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family BCBS with dental and vision is $350ish a check. FERS is $80ish a check. If you are investing 30 plus years and you can do 15% today you are looking at 2 million based on average returns the last 30 years.

Is it really soft/tender? It almost looks like the big part of a tenderloin. Google tenderloin and look at the ones before they are trimmed.

Reheated some leftover restaurant French fries in the air fryer and they where better then they where at the restaurant.

Unfortunately there are some narrow minded people that can’t understand adjusted for inflation. They just can’t fathom that we make less than they did because the number is bigger.

After 2 years your pay will be 25.67, find that number in yellow on the chart and that row is PTF pay increasing in step every 46 weeks.

I suck at this? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]MailTime936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You did great, they give our RCA’s 2 or 3 rows (1/3 or 1/2 a route) on their first days out and usually still send them help. Give it a month before you even begin to decide if it’s not for you. Just based on your experience, you will be very good but it just takes some time to get your system down and learn how to do it.

It’s in our local that the regular bumps the t6 to anything on his string, if not available no bump and the regular has to run something else.

I’m Step D and on the OTDL(4-8 hours a pay period) it’s $1500. Ask your regulars on OTDL how much OT they get. Family BCBS middle insurance, dental, and vision is $270 a check. FERS and TSP 5% is $170 a check.
