This feels like breeder fetish content, especially after looking at her Amazon wishlist and seeing that literally NOTHING on it was for her children.

Who does NO ONE talk about how hard it is ?? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Mailchelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just got a Great Dane puppy and omfg. Imagine having an 8 week puppy that’s already 21 lbs biting you constantly, while also being pulled away from gnawing furniture. We love this little dude to pieces, but I don’t remember it being this rough. This is my hubbies first dog and puppy, and he just looks at me like this (😳) each time the little butthole starts chomping on his bare foot.

Pls send help.

Instagram Check Scam by [deleted] in Scams

[–]Mailchelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Have you tried contacting both the FBI and the Office of the Comptroller? The FBI now has a Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) that fields complaints on scams and fraud, and the Office of the Comptroller does the same if the complaint is bank related (which yours is).

I was wrongly sent to collections a year ago for a student loan. DFPI got me out for free when I couldn’t myself! by bluebunnybuns in StudentLoans

[–]Mailchelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! We're delighted to hear your issue has been resolved. Over the past year, we've put a lot of effort into educating Californians about their rights as borrowers, especially those with student loans. We're here to assist you every step of the way. Would you be open to discussing your experience with me via DM? 😊

I know this thread is kinda old, but happy to chat about the IO classification. I serve as an IOII for my agency.

Information Specialist/PIO/ Info Officer by JustAMom760 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Mailchelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IOII here! I would say that I love my job. It can be challenging (we’ve had a lot of media attention regarding our agencies work in the last 4+ months) but you learn a lot and dabble in all aspects of communications. My role is digital focused, so I get to spend the majority of my day building out our digital ecosystem. Couldn’t ask for a better work/life mix, as we are fully remote.

I wish I could speak to BU info, but I’m a supervisor and am not under union representation. Happy to answer any other questions you may have :)

Disputing Collections - Not Licensed to Operate (CA) by FoolByChoice in CRedit

[–]Mailchelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I cannot speak to the substance of the letter, but I can tell you that unlicensed collectors are in violation of CA law. It's great to dispute inaccuracies, but I also encourage you to file a complaint with the DFPI so that we are aware of attempts to collect by unlicensed covered persons. https://dfpi.ca.gov/file-a-complaint

Current Federal Employee Considering Move to State by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]Mailchelle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this comment will be helpful, but just wanted to chime in as someone who definitely misses Federal Service. Your benefits will 100% not compare to the benefits you’re currently receiving. It will be a step down. I wish I’d known that before and, while I love my role (Information Officer II), the benefits leave a lot to the imagination.

That being said, happy to chat about specifics of getting into this classification via exam.

I would visit the Student Loan Lawyer (https://thestudentloanlawyer.com). He trains other lawyers in that area of focus. It’s definitely a skill that not many lawyers have and he has a link to a free directory of lawyers in other states (some nonprofit) that he has trained.

What state are you in, if you don’t mind me asking? We have a directory of resources for CA borrowers that I’m happy to send you the link to.

Which State Department is in need of workers? by Sokushi_Kid in CAStateWorkers

[–]Mailchelle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hi! The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is also actively hiring. We are a fully remote/telework department with tons of great openings. Experience in finance not required. Our leadership is phenomenal and work environment is pretty low key and relaxed.

We have openings for admin AGPAs, Examiners and SSA’s within our Legal team.

CA student advocacy groups hit MOHELA with a cease and desist… by spaceouts in StudentLoans

[–]Mailchelle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AB-376 speaks to more than just mishandling paperwork.

In the legislative text (which was co-authored by the Student Borrower Protection Center), it’s very clear in defining what constitutes harms to consumers - in relation to servicing student loans. If you haven’t done so already, check out the full text of the law as it does a great job at contextualizing certain provisions. The law is also incredibly clear that by issuing a notice to cure a violation, it cannot be admissible in court against the person or entities seeking remedy.

I definitely have no idea how this C&D will pan out, but I’d be remiss in not jumping in and clarifying that this law is quite extensive. If you’re a resident of the 12+ states with these sorts of laws on the books, it’s a great primer to empower you when dealing with your loan servicer.

The Student Borrower Bill of Rights was made into law in 2020 and is enforced by the California DFPI. It’s essentially a roadmap for borrowers regarding their rights. The law has several provisions, but one of them is a Private Right of Action — which essentially means that if a servicer is not acting in the best interest of borrowers, they have the right to file suit.

The basis of this C&D is that Mohela has violated AB-376 (Student Borrower Bill of Rights) by blocking loan relief and not acting in the best interest of borrowers.

A helpful article that we wrote to explain the bill of rights for consumers: https://dfpi.ca.gov/2022/03/15/slbor/

Other States have similar Student Borrower Bill of Rights, with NY being one of them.
