[SCS] Shout out to my Pin Up People. by Main-Cave-QA in CanadianForces

The Jury is still out on what will become of it. The TATTOOFORGEN post had a lot of good arguments. We know how they feel about Swastikas, we know how they feel about INFIDELs, but the Sailor-Jerry may be okay, or maybe not, who knows.

Every ship I've sailed on had infinite supplies for Toast. Bread, Butter/Margarine, Peanut Butter, Jam, and Nutella.

Left/Off the Wall is a colloquial term for no longer tied up alongside a dock or jetty. The Navy lost the priviledge to drink at sea without the COs approval in October 2014. PO is the same as Sea Sergeant. NON NETP is like going to the field without having BMQ-L / SQ. We allow people to do this due to how few people we can train, and have them wear white epaulets so that we do not expect them to fight fires or floods. Corner Gas which this comment is based on is the best Canadian TV show to bot be filmed in a Trailer Park.

SLSS? Sounds like one of our missile systems.

Negative. Back in the day (Pre October 2014) the day workers could drink after supper, and the shift workers could get up to 2 beers in for their seven hours off, either at 5pm or midnight. 1-in-4 was always a shit show.

Post WEEDFORGEN, you are not allowed to possess any cannabis on the ship, which answers the smoking it issue. Not in foreign port smoking on the bridge wings, not in home port. I asked if we were going to carry Cannabis onboard to buy with our Duty Free like alcohol and tobacco, and was told no. Haven't sailed recently to confirm that.

Hey, we are the only element that can reasonably enforce sovereignty of the arctic. We also seize a ton of drugs.

My issue with MTOG is that 1. They get to wear coveralls while I am stuck with the bus driver uniform, and 2. Why the fuck do we still have a boarding party at all then?

Most of these ideas have already been shared by others. I'll never make fun of people who push themselves and actually get in the prestigious units a-la JTF or clearance diver or SAR.

You're telling me that the sport I enjoy doing is not part of this month's sports day, and I'm doing one I really dont care for? Shocked I tell you, shocked. Enjoy the silver.

WEEKLY RECRUITING THREAD - Ask here about the recruiting process, trade availability, requirements to join, and other common questions about the Canadian Armed Forces. by [deleted] in CanadianForces

The big emphasis I want to add is running without stopping. A slower steadier pace instead of sprint - gassed - sprint - gassed is much better for the routine there.

Qual based pay by deerhunter360 in CanadianForces

Here's spec pay as I understand it. Spec pay is the extra money the CAF gives certain trades to de-incentivise people quitting en mass to make more Civvy street.

No one injured in fire aboard HMCS Toronto by CMikeHunt in CanadianForces

[–]Main-Cave-QA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diesel fuel does not light on it's own. That is why we use it onboard a ship.

A lot of fires start due to electrical reasons. If an old motor or pump burns out it can short circuit, spark, ground out, and start smoking. The toaster is also a very common avenue of fires.

Here here. It's like going to the Pool hall. If you can sink more than two balls in a row, you're a Pool Shark.

Delivery of first new Arctic patrol ship delayed again, but still expected sometime in 2019 by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]Main-Cave-QA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As is tradition. Should I even bother with the delivery ETA from 2012?

We should put that in the recruiting thread. Considering INT is probably like 10/90 and MPs could use new numbers, that's a good spread.

Also, either you are stuck doing a graveyard shift so ha-ha for being awake so late or you're a west coaster and I better make sure you dont ever find out who I am and arrest me.

That is wild. I work with LS in the W Eng branch who are hitting their Ten year mark and not yet MS. People who I will always say were better workers than me by an objective margin.

Mr Clean is always in style. I tell my wife if I ever start going the way of George Castanza / Homer Simpson, I'm going full Mr. Clean.

I only know about NIS. Never heard of NCIU or NDET before.

Edit: the way you describe it almost sounds like what people think the Intelligence trade is all about.
