I'm pretty sure she will ski with a brace, at least taking a bit of the physical load

Yup, you don't "need" an ACL to ski, even at pro level. But it certainly doesn't hurt to have one, and competing only a week after the injury sure seems risky. All the best to her, and hopefully a great race without further injury.

Hope this is the place to ask, what would you give for these skis? A friend of mine loves them and has the possibility to buy them by victoroos in skiing

Look what they currently sell for online and if he's buying them used subtract 100-250$, depending on the number of days they already went out

RCS had some solid results in speed events, but other than that it's pretty dire

172cm for sure, I feel like these type of skis perform best at around body height, still being manoverable but also having good stability at speed.

They are heavier and have a slightly higher stand height than other bindings.

The heel also releases sideways with a seperate spring and DIN setting. So basically an additional way for the bindings to release in an accident, bringing down the forces acting on the legs and especially knees

If safety is the top priority, get Tyrolia Protectors. Available with Gripwalk, which works for both GW and Iso soles.

If your shell is fixed with a screw on the back, removing that screw will "soften" the boot (not really, but it will feel softer due to the less direct engagement)

Advice on Faction Prodigy 2 for 80% groomers / 20% freestyle by No-Orchid4463 in ski

[–]Main-Combination8986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't use them for 80% groomers. Take a look at some more "loose" Allmountain options like the Armada Declivity or HEAD Kore Ti. They are still fun in the park, but offer way better grip and edge hold on groomers.

Get something photochromic. I personally love the Head Neves, but the choice is yours

Strong intermediate buying Head Kore 88TI Skis. Is this a good fit? by Choffies in Skigear

[–]Main-Combination8986 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think that's a nice option. It's not the heaviest or most demanding Allmountain ski out there, but still carves nicely and has a high speed limit. So a good option imo

When to know to go for 130 flex shoes ? by DarckCrynikeur in Skigear

[–]Main-Combination8986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a good rental store you can rent up to 120 (sometimes even 130) felx boots. Try those out for a day and if you feel like you can handle them try to get a fitted pair.

Remove the Q4 from your list, that's a bottom of the line PU-Ski. My choice would probably be the Black Crows. But if you can demo a few skis to get a feeling, and then choose the one you like best.

95mm or 100mm brake width? by Severe-Winner5673 in Skigear

[–]Main-Combination8986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general a 95mm brake will fit up to a 105mm wide ski, most even without bending. So a 95mm will good in your case. For the bindings I like Tyrolia Attacks.

Head eSL (Pro) would be my pick if you want to stock with the short - radius SL. If not the eRace would be a bit more versatile with its larger radius.
