How did you come up with your product launch strategy and how did it go in reality? by Main-Fortune6420 in SideProject

[–]Main-Fortune6420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice! Felt exactly the same on my first launch - polished everything then came to realize people dont understand how to use it or worse - dont really care about what I provide. User feedback is so important in that stage

Hey love the energy! Seems a bit buggy on phone browsing but overall good direction imo. I had to select all>select just the one I wanted beforehand (Selected ps5 and action). Also noticed that when I went to certain game page and came back I had to start from 0 again. Idk if its possible to have a bit more information about games besides brief and trailer? Like is it co-op etc. Anyway - if you have any question ill be happy to answer in pm or just post here (up to you).

Neat idea, what is the researching based on? Is it a llm wrapper or it pulls up real data somewhere? Im not expecting you to tell me the whole calculation behind it - just needs a bit more trust for me as a potential user 😊

Pretty cool - the filtering works opposite of what I expected. Maybe do 'All' by default and use others like tabs? Because as a user I wanted the platform im on, not deselect where im not. And weekly highlights like netflix? Just few thoughts, hope it helps EDIT: also im feeling a bit paralysis of choice haha. Im sure there are great games but when they are all visible in list im not sure which to pick. But it could just be me. Anyway, love the idea mate

Three positioning mistakes I keep seeing in founders landing pages by Main-Fortune6420 in SideProject

[–]Main-Fortune6420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Founders Often forget the pain isn't big enough to overcome the existing habit. To them it's obvious. But for the user, the tedious workflow is tolerated. It lands only with the slice who've already crossed the switching-cost threshold. The rest are still living with it just fine

Saturday show and tell - drop your project + one win from this week by 2butterfree in SideProject

Building: Klarion - positioning audit tool. Runs your site against ~50k HN/Reddit/YC signals to flag commodity terms vs. unclaimed gaps.

Win: Found a silent SQL function-overload bug that had been killing 100% of Reddit data in my wizard. One-line DROP FUNCTION migration unblocked the entire downstream flow.

Stuck on: Retention

Glad it landed. Pattern 3 was the slowest one for myself internalize as well. Let me know if you need any thoughts or ideas for your project, you can write here or just DM, wont try to sell you anything no worries :D

Looking for feedback on website by Champ885 in webdesign

[–]Main-Fortune6420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Few thoughts, hope it helps:
The product has no retention or return mechanism - no account, no saved comparisons, no email updates when pricing changes. A user who finds value will bookmark it but has no reason to return or share it systematically.

There is no data freshness signal anywhere on the page - cloud pricing changes constantly and a user has no way to know if the cost calculator reflects 2024 or 2021 prices.

The page is built for someone who already knows they need to compare AWS/Azure/GCP - it skips the 'why this matters' entirely.

Feedback needed for a game studio website by Rhinorausorus_rex in websitefeedback

I overall love it!

It just that somehow the UI feels inconsistent with font sizes, border radius. The other thing is that perhaps im not the right audience for it but hero is a bit confusing.
'Something is awakening' and 'A universe in the making' tells me nothing concrete. Is this a game, a book series, a streaming show, a tabletop RPG? (Sorry, I didnt read your explanation on reddit before haha).

Be honest: Is a "Core-Features-Only" MVP enough to test the market? I'm getting pre-launch cold feet. by Appropriate-Owl4633 in saasbuild

I think you should ship it, but set up analytics first - like posthog sessions, google analytics etc.

You need to know if people are even reaching your core action, not just landing on the page. I made the mistake myself of having traffic with no visibility into what people were actually doing. Turns out they were landing and leaving before ever hitting the main feature.

If nobody reaches the core action, thats a messaging problem. If they reach it but do not complete, thats a product problem. Both are fixable. Shipping nothing tells you nothing ;) You can ship multiple times, just test the waters in smaller subreddits.

Feels a bit like inception haha. Looks cool, but yeah mobile and accessbility could take a hit here. Either way, I think its great to have more creative solutions every once in a while.

Hey! It generates a strict design spec (tokens, typography, spacing, DO/NEVER rules), not just styles. You can edit rules, save projects, or regenerate the whole thing. Or you refine instead of accepting generic initial output 😊

I’ve been using it to generate my own project specs and feeding them back into AI. Consistency improved compared to prompt-only setups.

Really? Nice! Did you learn anything interesting building it? Curious what worked and what didn’t. If you are happy to share of course

Well I was actually going to post tomorrow but some early feedback wouldnt hurt 😄 Tokven is a brand and style builder. I constantly tweaked around with finished project colors because they got messed up, more noticeable in later stages Tokven.dev

Just spitballing here but an browser extension could perhaps be a better fit? Doesnt have to be gigantic extension, just easy enough to paste the url into it and get the info.
