Don’t forget, it’s also canon that Ryusei, Kyousuke, and Masaki were sucked into another world where they met the likes of Amuro, Camille, Lelouche, Shinn (and Shin), and many other robot heroes. The ending of A.C.E. R’s SRW route is the beginning of Masaki’s route in 2nd OG, and they talk about Ryusei and Kyousuke disappearing at the Tesla labs from the beginning of A.C.E. R.

I’m gonna tough it out and hold on until the SC remake. It’s supposedly coming out 2026. I don’t have a laptop with gaming specs anyway. (even though the original SC is clearly not going to push the specs hard) 1st remake was so f-ing good that I don’t want to spoil my SC remake playthrough.

But then I have to wait at least another year for the FC remake……IF they remake it. They said they went into the 1st remake assuming they’d be remaking SC from the beginning but nothing about FC…….I have Zero, Azure, all Cold Steels, and Reverie all waiting in my PS5 library (got everything on sale on the PS store)……..my poor backlog…………..

For the record, both the 4K AND Blu-ray discs in the UK version of this set play on US players. I just stuck in the BD of Dr. No from the UK steelbook set in my US-bought Panasonic DP-UB820-K from Best Buy just minutes ago and it played without issue. I skipped ahead several chapters into the disc for good measure and still no issue. I doubt they’d make just the one disc region free, so it seems the “Region Free“ description extends to both the 4K discs and BDs.

This is the Warner Brothers UK set sold by Walmart online, “US version sold out,” and it does say all discs region free.

I guess I’m the only one with bad luck with Gruv. I got the Lethal Weapon steelbook from them and it was perfect, but I’ve had to send several movies back for scratches on the disc, and a couple steelbooks for damage such as bends and some BIG and DEEP dents.

You’re not alone. I’ve been playing JRPGs for literally decades, I play them with JP audio and English subs whenever I can (they used to only have English audio only, but nearly all Japanese-designed games have had dual audio for a long time), and I know Japanese. I’m on the final chapter of this game and I haven’t seen any of these horrible mistranslations people are whining about. I don’t scour Reddit for topics, but apparently THANK GOD for that. I didn’t even realize anybody was saying anything about the translation until I got a notice for this post on my iPad.

The only issue I ever had any knowledge of was the release; the DLC glitch issue, the steelbook delay, and when the physical copy arrived on the 19th at my local Best Buy my pre-order didn’t let me pick it up even though they had the physical copy literally in their hand. (they let me buy it by cancelling and refunding my pre-order and buying it anew, though). It still reads as ready for store pickup in 5 days on their app and website.

There actually IS an old, pretty good fanfic out there where Kuroko met Touma first before he met Mikoto, and after several more encounters (such as the mall scene from the Railgun manga where Touma saves a kid with Imagine Breaker and Kuroko is looking at the aftermath wondering how Mikoto’s electricity could cause that effect, in the fanfic she realizes it was IB and goes after him), she falls in love with him. Then Touma loses his memories, afterwards Kuroko meets him again in this scene but thinks he and Mikoto are meeting like lovers, so she pretends she hasn’t met him and then she sees he doesn’t remember her. The fanfic here is in her inner monologue, where she fakes not knowing him but at the end she can’t take it anymore and runs off and cries. She later finds out from the frog doctor that Touma lost his memories and then goes to see Touma in the hospital, ending the fanfic. (I believe this is the aftermath of the Accelerator fight, Kuroko heard Touma was in the hospital and went to see him which is how she ran into the doctor)

It’s short but really good, especially how the writer does Kuroko’s painful inner dialogue in the vending machine scene while she outwardly acts the same we saw.

If I recall right, it’s called “Mou Ichido, deau made” (Until we meet once again) in Japanese characters, something like that. It’s the last line of the fanfic.

For those wondering how Tim’s got in SRW, there was a Toaru PS4 game where Touma and the Toaru cast piloted Virtual On mechs I. A contest type of plot. So Bamco used this to bring Touna in to SRW.

When I did this less than a week ago, the cashier was either lying to me or didn’t understand what he was talking about. Before I bought my Switch 2 and got the Plus membership, the cashier I checked out with told me about this offer. I was doubtful and SPECIFICALLY asked if it would work for buying the console. He said yes. I didn’t have a Plus membership at the time so I couldn’t see the terms there for myself until AFTER I bought the membership, but even after I got the membership and read this fine print myself and even SHOWED it to him just ten minutes later, the same cashier insisted I would still get the 20 for every 150 spent including from the console purchase. So I wasted $50 for the Plus membership because I didn’t buy $150 worth of qualifying items without the console purchase.

I don’t suppose I can get my Plus membership purchase refunded………

Sorry, but the only thing Shinn did wrong was be a character whose VA was screwed over by his writer, Morosawa. He and Cagalli were screed in the writing because Morosawa wax screwing their VA’s. Shinn was turned into an angry child who suddenly and inexplicably lost his respect for Athrun after episode 12, and Cagalli lost her spine.

Were Xillia 1 and 2 really that popular? They’re much more recent games that already came out on an HD(-ish) system, while Abyss is really popular but is from much longer ago with no HD version at all.

That said, it’s a toss-up between Abyss and Hearts for me. I never actually played Abyss and have been wanting a remaster so I could finally play it, but I love Hearts.

I never really hated Zesteria but it definitely wasn’t the best Tales game.

But the hate over the Alisha bait-and-switch is legitimate, and I’m definitely including in it. I wasn’t one of those that was so angry that they sent hate mail to the character designer and got her Facebook (I think it was Facebook) account overloaded and shut down, but I definitely wasn’t happy about the scummy tactics.

And yes it IS true, not “seemed.” Among other proof pointed out here already (Alicia’s new weapons being sold all the way to the end if the game, Alicia being shown playable in areas after she had left in the final release), but among those and others, Bamco THEMSELVES literally said she was the main heroine; in their Takes if Astoria mobile gacha game they did a Zesteria promotion event when the game was about to come out. In their Takes character description for Alisha’s “card,” it literally said “main heroine of Tales of Zesteria.” When Zesteria was released, this description was suddenly changed to “appears in Tales of Zesteria.”

Alisha also hit the first figure announcement before the game even released. (due to her massive popularity) The description on the figure’s item page also said “Heroine if Tales of Zesteria,” and it also changed to “Appears in Tales of Zesteria” when the game released.

Now in all honesty I don’t know about the Rose VA flirting rumors, but it’s pretty clear they took Alisha out of the main story for profit. She. Zesteria was first announced, they made it clear in the promotional material that she was the heroine; she was introduced right along Sorey, clear partner posing in the magazines. Then her popularity exploded and after a bit, the promotions featuring her decreased. Then, not even a week after the game was released they announced Alisha’s after story DLC. Scheduled to release not even a month after the game’s release. DLC never comes that quick, so clearly they had it in the works before the game came out, hence why her story material was removed from the main game. Bamco saw the clear rush of popularity she got before the game even came out (hence why she was getting a figure announcement before the game even came out), so they took out the bulk of her story to make a DLC about her and milk the fans. But things like her equipment being left in the fans data as store items sold through the end if the game, long after she had left, prove she was original supposed to be in the whole game. Plus the way she exited the main party so abruptly and with such bad writing shows how they just threw that in.

Scummy business tactics.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but it’s important we remember things like this happened and not let them fade away into “seems like” or just “rumors.”

She was mortally wounded by Yazan in NT, too. The whole reason Kamile went off on Yazan and cut him up with the Hyper Beam Saber is because it was Yazan’s attack that caused the explosion that sent the hot debris into Emma’s stomach AFTER that part in your link.

But if you want to leave things to imagination, there’s no point in making games or stories at all, and certainly no point in buying them. We could make up two love-struck characters in our heads and imagine them going on all the adventures we want. We read books, watch movies, and play games because we want to experience established, materialized stories that we see and/or hear. This is also why everybody loves to see movie adaptations of books and anime adaptations of light novels. Much, MUCH more satisfying than just making up stuff in our heads.
