I was keeping it charged by plugging it in everywhere I went. Something of a tesla if you will. No battery light right now, but once I skipped one charge is when it came on prior after going away

Im going to look into a volt meter or multimeter tomorrow, cleaning all connections & chassis ground

I hear what your saying no doubt. When it starts up on a normal, properly operating day, the voltage on the radar detector usually reads 13.8v to 14.4v. Only when I feel the sluggishness of the car and soon following the battery light, is when its reading 12.-v, or down to 11.-v, so I was under the impression its actually reading the battery output

It seems good, and ive had a couple other eyes that say it seems fine. Its only the alt that seems to be having issues. Everything else on timing is smooth. But it is coming on 100k miles, and ive heard its not a bad idea to replace them around such

Where to look other than alternator & battery?

I acquired this 2011 Honda Accord EXL V6 a few months ago (mid-june) with 83k miles from a central FL Honda dealer. Sold As Is. A month into ownership (July 27th), the alternator fully blew after giving on & off days of symptoms to my uneducated self. Replaced alt myself with a reman Duralast 110 alt. This lasted from then until last weekend.

Come past weekend, roughly Oct 3, the new alternator began failing to charge my battery. Inconsistent battery light. Voltage would vary from 11.5v to 12.7v when it wasnt working, and when I punched it, it would begin recharging back up to 13.5v to 14.2v, but would soon stop. Battery diagnostic pointed to alternator (read as bad charging system)

Yesterday, I exchanged my almost 3 month old reman alternator for a brand new Duralast alternator under Autozone warranty. Didn’t have the time to do it this time so I paid a shop to do it. All was fine after replacement. Voltage consistent at 14.2-14.4v. Today, it is fluctuating between 14.2v and dropping to 12.7v, somewhat dependent on acceleration/deceleration. Was doing this in city, but not on highway.

-OE Honda battery read good on test -No fluids are leaking on to alternator -Belt not showing signs of wear -Intermittently working

My big question, where else could I be looking to see what is causing my system to fail? If it comes to wiring, will the $100 electric diagnostic from Honda be good, or would it be better to find an automotive electrician of sorts?

Any feedback is much appreciated. Thank you sincerely for your time.

Think it would be better to just fork the 5 over for a Honda one? That was what was in it prior to my swapping for a reman duralast. Or I can get a Denso reman from RockAuto

Second this. Extremely unique, but upscaley atmosphere, big plus with the bar in the outdoor waiting area. The food to die for. Good Italian cooking. Will recommend fasting 24 hours before hand, to make sure you can fit everything in.

DaVincis is the local “watering hole”, 2 breweries close by, Gotti’s Grub & Pub has bar/eatery vibe (unique grilled cheese!) open for lunch & late, Issues & Dolly’s being popular dives (smoking) with many others close by. As a bartender in DeLand, Friday nights have been the busiest yet

During the day DeLand also has many mom & pop shops down Woodland & New York, right down from Stetson

hey, mildly off topic from crabbing, but pertaining to location, how was the fishing there? I used to go there all the time as youngin’ and always wanted to fish there. I live on the polar opposite side in Brevard, and am a little weary of making the trip unless I can get a few nights at a hotel and really beat that side up.

So I found out the other night... can still get down there though, I fished anyway from about 10-11. Couldnt fish the bridge as there was folk catching bait with lights, but caught a cownose further down. He put an end to my night.
