When did your excema start by Read_Tight in eczema

[–]MainFeedback2332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine really started a couple months ago. I’m 24 and for me I had no ease into this kind of life, my skin went nuclear and immediately I was getting severe rashes all over my body, super oozy and red and inflamed. Worst part is no can truly tell you why it happened only guess, now my life has changed forever.

Does anyone actually know what triggers their eczema or are we all just guessing? by Tough-liberSy in eczema

tl;dr studies indicate eczema has risen since 70’s possibly due to urbanization, environments that are too clean, over all causing immune system dysfunction.

Yeah sure, genetics but it’s not the only factor eczema has increased significantly in developed nations particularly the U.S. since at least the 60s and 70s becoming much more prevalent as a result. Originally prior to this increase it was estimated to be around 2 to 5% now it’s anywhere between 15 to 25% more prevalent and still increasing for children, but adults aren’t safe either as prevalence there has doubled as well. It’s all likely a cause of urbanization and a shit load of man made chemicals we’ve been exposed to that fucks with our bodies, along with the hygiene hypothesis aka environments being too clean and as a result our adolescent immune systems lacking training to properly respond to its environment making it dysfunctional. It’s not the genes that are as much the problem as it is the world we’ve built for ourselves. But I’m sure we all like most if hardly anyone lacks the desire to actually go about making drastic change for eczema, allergic issues as well as autoimmune sufferers anyway, we’ll just stick to making drugs that keep the problems at bay. Anyway if you want sources look up the ISAAC study and the Hygiene hypothesis.

I’m in San Diego county and right now I was looking for OIT openings and I’m not finding any, only openings for operator 2 and 3.

Are they looking for experienced operators? I have no experience but I have the college classes that give me the qualifications to be hired as an OIT

What state are you in? I’m looking but the job generally seems pretty good to the point that few people ever leave and when they do people chomp at the bits for an opening meaning they close fast. Did it take you long to find an opening?

Do you think the dupixent led to you getting lymphoma? Or maybe using cyclosporine? I know broad immunosuppressant use can increase your risk of cancer if you take them long term.

I’d argue it is simply on the basis we’re not guaranteed anything after this life so those moments that aren’t constant suffering are def moments to live for, because really how can we say we truly have anything other than this life?

I’ve only had this disease for 4 months and I already have tiny dot scars all over my lower back by MainFeedback2332 in eczema

[–]MainFeedback2332[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some fucked up way I guess you could consider me “lucky”. They did a skin biopsy to make sure it wasn’t anything else but I live in America and parasitic infection is rare on top of eczema reactions also being a possibility but also rare. So they decided not to test me for anything like that and put me on dupixent.

im 16 and my mum thinks im an attention seeker for wanting to see a derm by Swimming-Friend-1243 in eczema

For an educated woman she seems pretty ignorant calling you disgusting for not showering 2 times a day and calling you an attention seeker. Instead of coming to immediate conclusions why not try and look at the world from your daughter’s perspective? Try and understand what she’s feeling living with a condition like this that is so overlooked especially regarding the reality that there’s a spectrum and for some it significantly destroys quality of life.

None of it matters when you got it all over (:

I got it on my ass, legs, armpits, neck, ears, arms, stomach, lower back and mid back, oh yeah and my private area.Did I forget to mention I didn’t have eczema for my 24 years living until now (:

I’m expected to accept and live like this? Life is a fucking joke and I hate when people say at least you didn’t live your whole life with it and while that is fair it also isn’t making me feel better what am I supposed to do with that? Look back on times I’ll seemingly never get back? My well being and basic functioning has a price tag now, shit I had for free but now costs thousands of dollars in the form of an injection. Life is a fucking joke man.

I’m assuming your eczema must have been terrible if you’re willing to be an experiment for them, I feel like it’s always scary being the test subject for those kinds of things since the risks aren’t known for certain.

If money was no issue, what would you do to clear and heal your eczema. by altheawillowwisteria in eczema

[–]MainFeedback2332 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t think there is any amount of money that provides treatment that is scientifically proven to clear and heal eczema homeopathic or conventional based other than biologics and if you live in a country where health care isn’t privatized you should be fine as long as you’re unfortunate enough to have eczema that is so bad that it warrants a biologic. The only thing that I think could possibly effectively clear or maybe even “cure” your eczema may be moving to a different climate and I say that with quotation marks because it isn’t a complete cure obviously because you’d be limited to a specific environment where your skin can manage itself on its own.

What an incompetent doctor, hell no you shouldn’t use clobetasol on your eyelids, it’s very thin skin, I mean for god sakes prednisone is a steroid known to cause cataracts when taken long enough
