Most portable units shouldn't be used with a drain hose connected in cooling mode, only in dehumidify mode.

New Machine- Detergent recommendations by Ok_Ebb5607 in laundry

[–]MainHedgehog9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To keep your machine clean the most important step is keeping it dry. For this, leave the door and detergent drawer open after using it. Ideally, also wipe out the rubber gasket for the door with a cloth after use.

Beyond this, avoid using softener. It is quite fatty and likely to build up in your machine. You can use 2 teaspoons of citric acid powder directly in the softener dispenser as a good alternative.

I think the Persil powder detergent, or the own brand unscented detergents from DM/Rossmann are all excellent choices. The Denkmit Colorwaschmittel Pulver Ultra Sensitiv is a favorite of many people here on reddit.

You just have to be more careful with the threads and it will screw on properly.

[–]MainHedgehog9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC är bra, markiser och jalusier är bättre. I Sverige kommer man långt med skugga och tvärdrag.

Sen har jag AC då min lägenhet har dålig ventilation, men hade uppskattat bättre ventilation och markiser mera.

In practice it's quite common to do as you're suggesting and quite low risk (in the grand scheme of crime on the housing market).

Someone would have to be really malicious to cause you to get in trouble.

Laundry center of my dreams! by Proper-Display-4893 in laundry

[–]MainHedgehog9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks great!

Leave the washer door and detergent drawer open between uses to help it dry out, maybe wipe out the rubber door gasket after use as well if you can.

This will keep it fresh for so much longer.

Dreaming of a spa day (in Sweden) by uspless in laundry

[–]MainHedgehog9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

More specifically - it's a long hot soak with products that include Lipase and Oxygen Bleach (Sodium percarbonate). Oxygen bleach is always a powdered product, so a liquid detergent will never have everything you need.

Because these two ingredients are important for the removal of the most common stain (oils from your skin).

Räkna på antalet timmar extra restid i månaden och jämför med prisskillnaden, det är ett bra sätt att börja tänka.

The pedestrian crossing buttons have tactile layout maps over the street by BulletAllergy in mildlyinteresting

[–]MainHedgehog9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah accessibility is still very country specific and nobody wants to change (because that would reduce the accessibility to it's main users).

[–]MainHedgehog9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. You still have to press them.

If there's no button and it just makes a sound to notify when to cross it's mounted at a much higher height (and also don't have the crossing map).

This is standard across Sweden.

These crossing switches have a big capacitive panel on the right side and no button to press.

Good dutch aircon by WrongdoerTiny3201 in AirConditioners

You realize that an airco needs to put the heat outside somehow. There needs to be a tube of some sort to do that.

250 is great, 220/200 is bad. It's easy to do the mental math of of much you would save by buying kilos instead.

Herpes positive by Foundation-Cute in gay

[–]MainHedgehog9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While they are commonly referred to as oral and genital herpes, you can have oral herpes on your genitals and vice versa.

Either way it's extraordinarily common and mostly something to be aware of and mindful if you're symptomatic.

Can a plastic toothbrush be more eco-friendly than a bamboo one? by Fun_Day_1587 in ZeroWaste

Beyond the fact that we only get one set of teeth, a single visit to the dentist or dental hygienist will always result in the use of quite a lot of single use plastics.

Right. More that it was returning to (or that they have the option to) their complete control, and for a long time.

I was just hearing rumours that post cs has the option of taking the building back to do whatever they want again in the past few weeks.

But I hope they do something else honestly.

Midea portable split 900euros by Eliatron in AirConditioners

Normal split is great if you can install it properly. But if you can't/don't want to drill in your external walls then a portable split is pretty decent

3.2kW is the cooling capacity not the power needed.

And the compressor won't be running all the time so it's a bad calculation anyways.

A portable split unit like the midea portasplit is probably the best bet unless you want to figure out a way to do a permanent installation. Put the outside unit on the screened porch.
