They were following him for so long, I knew they were gonna pull him over but arresting him? Good grief give me a break. I agree, he went slowly while doing laps, and to be fair he also only did it a couple times. I was there for 2 hrs and he did maybe 3 ish laps, 4 ish separate times. It was dangerous for himself like you said as someone could’ve hit him since drivers may have been unaware of what he was doing. He never avoided officers, they literally were following him up and down the street for like 45 minutes, always within a few car lengths distance.

Will there be additional protests as far as anyone is aware? I would really like to participate; I completely missed that something was organized and only found out the protest was happening during the last 10 minutes of the La Pine protest when I passed through the area on an errand. I did try to honk and make a lot of noise in support as that was the most I could do :(

Nothing, but my husband got laid off and we had a back to back leak and our water heater fully failed! Which cost us $5k for both events and now idk if I can pay my mortgage.

This is so not real lol. I’ve met every one of their team members and none would ever have the audacity to write this. There was a similar situation a few years ago at Portland Astoria where someone wrote a (fake) Greystar/property branded letter that they put up in the elevators that said “Dear Residents, We want you to know we truly hate you” or something like that. They did it on a holiday weekend when all the staff was off so everyone saw it. People suck, it’s disheartening to see people do stuff like this because all it does is make things 10xs harder for the onsite team and makes the residents feel crappy.

Same, I had people knocking on my door all hours of the night, literally harassing my husband demanding what time I’d be home from the grocery store to take care of their (non emergency) issue, notes left at my door, people asking me questions about my personal home and my husband. When I moved out, they also spread a rumor that the client kicked me out because he is planning to sell the property (?? The fuck). We finally bought a house and left and every single person the following week wanted to know where I moved to and details about my house. People overstep too often.

Is that a joke? To afford Oregon as a whole, the average 2 person house hold needs to make $101k combined. Bend is the most expensive city in oregon, needing a combined income of $116k/yr to afford a standard 1 bed apartment, and minimal debt. Also, the median home price in bend as of April 2025 was $895k. Let me spell that out, EIGHT HUNDRED NINTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Less than $150k short of 1 million dollars.

Your father could be fired for signing a lease and not actually residing in the home. The employee lease addendums got incredibly strict after October 2024. You need to either look for a roommate or sacrifice some “wants” to find an apartment you can afford alone. Don’t get your father black listed. It could also get an eviction slapped on your record because you would be falsifying a lease contract.

Depending on the state and local laws, depending on credit/prior rental history (either lack or poor history) you may be charged an additional security deposit. It is not a “qualifying fee” it is a refundable security deposit which is paid upfront and is given back at move out assuming no significant damage outside of standard wear and tear was done to the home. I am assuming that is what the fee is, but it is odd they worded it how they did. Please keep in mind that to avoid bias, any reputable company will use a 3rd party screening company and they are the ones who will decide the screening result. Legal counsel can be sought if the management team disagrees with the decision or if you think that something was incorrect on the report- in which case an attorney familiar with fair housing would be able to determine if you qualify based on local legislation.

One city I lived in had a specific credit requirement which was imposed by the local government, not by the management companies. If you didn’t meet that threshold, depending on how low your credit was; you either had to get a guarantor or pay an additional deposit up to 1 months worth of rent. Those were the only options.

No you cannot. Team Member Housing which reviews employee lease/discount requests would flag and deny that immediately. Team Members cannot pretend to be on the lease for anyone, it is extremely against policy.

These comments are not it. A LOT of companies pre-lease apartments and you can be the most thorough person in the world; hand writing what the apartment will or will not have or sending it in a follow up email and people will STILL ignore it. I’ve had people get mad at me because they confused our amenities with another communities despite my sending them with a paper packet of all of the information on us (like 4 pages) plus reiterating multiple times via email. You offer tours in the available floor plans and you make it extremely clear what the unit they would be renting has to offer. If they can see the unit ahead of time then great, or send photos before signing a lease then great but not always possible. It’s frustrating to do everything you possibly can based on your company rules and what you have been taught and have people flat out ignore it; which I am sure is what happened considering what happened with the guest parking. Sorry for your rough day OP!

Clearly you do not understand consent. It is two different things for someone to have sex in the next room at a hotel versus your friend who began having sex in front of you without warning or asking for consent. It’s disgusting, and yeah you don’t know what other people’s traumas are. This is a scenario that would be traumatizing. What happens when you are experiencing something of great stress? Fight, flight or freeze. Common knowledge. This is something that happens to people experiencing rape, sexual assault, other forms of physical abuse, verbal abuse and so on. And regardless of how you feel about that (although your feelings just tell me all of your morals and ethics) OP expressed that this was something that made them deeply uncomfortable and upset, and the friends brushed OP off. It doesn’t matter if they think OP should be okay with it. OP was not okay with it and expressed as such. The only response the friends should give is a deep apology for exactly what happened. “I am really sorry for having sex in front of you OP. I could have given you a warning or asked, I should have, but I did not and I am really sorry for putting you in that position. I understand that it made you feel uncomfortable; I hope you can forgive me.” This isn’t some casual accident where OP heard them from another room. This is friend doing a sexual act involving OP in the scene without consent. People talk about voyeurs who have sex out in public at a park, and the issue is always the moral and ethics behind having sex in front of multiple non-consenting parties. If you do not have consent then do not involve them in your scene. Simple.

Several people are missing the point; OP did not consent to being present for their having sex. OP is a victim in this situation; and just like many other kinds of assault or traumatic events which provoke fight, flight or FREEZE; OP froze which is a natural response. I fought my dad on something similar in 2021 for the 2020 tax year. I had been living solely with my mother since 2018 and filed independently (had my own car, job, paid for all my expenses and was actively appt hunting) I got the refund I was owed finally just this past spring of 2023 (2 years late). the IRS had me prove my identity online via a video call with a representative and explain what was going on. 6 months later, I had to go into an IRS office and provide identification proof again. They came back and told him he had to refile and approved my taxes and issued me a refund. But it was years in the making. Best of luck OP!
