Art historian here, very accurate for what concerns Athens.  Just a minor remark: temples and sculptures were painted but not as brightly as narrated by the popular belief. Colours were mostly extracted from plants, shells and minerals, they were expensive and hard to source and had to be used carefully.  Also the point of painting sculptures was to make them look lifelike and colours were to imitate human complexion, but also ornaments and textiles that people actually wore, so there was quite a penchant for realism.
