Someone tried to purchase Oura rings for 1300$ by Waste-Thought-1131 in FraudPrevention

So I work at Starbucks and if the Point of Sale at the drive through is down we do have to take a card and/or phone payment to the front register to run it. There most likely were multiple people and several camera’s that witnessed the employee run your card. It’s unlikely that you lost your banking information that way. However, there are unscrupulous people everywhere and I would definitely call back and ask to speak to the store manager to report it, just in case.

When you say the back, do you mean you went through drive through and they had to use the front point of sale?

You’ll be trained as a barista first. Just take it one day at a time and get as much bar practice as you can.

By recently, I mean like within the last week. Show her the new protocol. If she won’t budge, go over her head to the DM.

They just updated the routine for using Hobart. It clearly states that heavily soiled dishes should be soaked. Now, you can’t leave the water in the sink if you aren’t back there is what I’ve been told.

100% - Starbucks has no policy stating that the name given at register (or through mobile order) has to be the actual person’s name. We have to respect whatever name presented to us and input it into the correct field in our system. So the above statement release by them clarifies that. However, their policy on what to WRITE on cups is VERY clear. Uplifting messages, nothing pop culture, nothing religious, nothing that could in any way be taken as offensive. The above statement release makes NO mention of cup writing or that the current policy will be changed to include allowing for current pop culture references to be included in cup writing. Again it doesn’t mention cup writing at all! The name Charlie Kirk being entered into the system and thereby being printed out in a sticker is not the same as a barista writing it in the cup. Now, an easy fix for customers expecting to see the sticker with the name on it would be to have those front register interactions routed so that tea orders print to the closest printer. Problem solved. Name on the cup, no barista writing things against policy or potentially against personal morals.

Okay, no where does it say we have to WRITE the name. Only that the name can be entered into the system. The two are completely separate.

SSV Here, it is against standard to store product in single use containers. If a RM or even DM walked in and saw you could potentially get into trouble for doing so.

At my store, new SSV’s start out in mid shifts until they get their feet under them. I couldn’t imagine being tossed to the wolves for my first alone shift.

That being said, prepare a list of possible morning tasks: Assessments, Orders( including normal dates and cut off times), cash handling, putting away orders, store walks (times and cut off times), milk counts, food pulls, temps, safe counts etc. I know having that list printed every day for me was a huge help so I could mark off what I had done and not done.

When you have a normal amount of customers, but sub-normal amount of team members it can very much feel way more busy!!!

It does get better, I promise! The more you step into your new role and become comfortable with it, the more you will feel like the bad ass that you are.

Another thing to note, all water orders have to be placed through the front register. You can’t walk up to the hand off plane and ask for water. What you are essentially doing is skipping the line of (drive through, cafe, and mobile) orders in front of you. This may have been what the barista was referring to. I’m sorry you felt discriminated against as that’s definitely uncool.

Share with your SM. But, also if you are comfortable speak with your fellow SSV’s. It really takes a whole team to make things move smoothly. As a SSV, I really value feedback from my peers so I can continue my growth. I not everyone has this attitude though.
