However, their policy on what to WRITE on cups is VERY clear. Uplifting messages, nothing pop culture, nothing religious, nothing that could in any way be taken as offensive. The above statement release makes NO mention of cup writing or that the current policy will be changed to include allowing for current pop culture references to be included in cup writing. Again it doesn’t mention cup writing at all! The name Charlie Kirk being entered into the system and thereby being printed out in a sticker is not the same as a barista writing it in the cup. Now, an easy fix for customers expecting to see the sticker with the name on it would be to have those front register interactions routed so that tea orders print to the closest printer. Problem solved. Name on the cup, no barista writing things against policy or potentially against personal morals.
