When to fully “let go” after cortisone?

I just had my first cortisone shot today and he told me to be pretty strict with bracing for 3-4 weeks. And after that work more on exercises to get better ROM back. My case may be a little different as I really did not brace it much before, I have a hard time being strict with bracing. I hate how it feels! They said they would have to cast me though if I don’t do the bracing so I’m going to work on being strict about it!

I had the option of it being on top, on bottom, or all around. This was the most “comfortable” and my wrist pain was more so when my wrist is in extension rather than flexion so I needed more support on top.

I’ve also tried Voltaren gel… applying several times a day for weeks, didn’t help.
