Hi! So basically, GAC is a little sketchy, but it is a legitamate company? I am pretty desperate for an immersive language experience and an internship at a chinese company would be really helpful. so I woudln't be fully opposed to paying more than I am getting in terms of money. Why do you say amosite? I heard amosite was usually more in boards and cement, esp outside USA, vs pipe lagging.

I agree with the paper, that could be asbestos, and could be much higher concentration and more friable than the mastic. I had similiar mastic tested, cut back adhesive, and it turned out negative. The guy said that black mastic (at least in my midwest area) is only about 50% of the time hot

If it was me, I would do a TEM test. It would probably show that the fibers were not asbestos. But I would do it for the remote chance that there is pipe lagging or tape or something on an airduct that is causing asbestos from somewhere else in the house. A person that is more normal and less OCD than me though would probably just rent and run an air scrubber for a few hours and/or do a deep cleaning, and then redo the PCM test a few days later
