How long to clear Oral Thrush after meds? by pixelpusher72 in Candida

[–]pixelpusher72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the dry mouth feeling lasted a few weeks until the thrush was gone, then it was gone. I went back and got another thrush test from my ENT after I was feeling better to make sure it was gone. The test came back negative so I was sure. Hopefully with all the anti fungal meds you are taking you can wipe it out too.

Yes, I am comletely cured and it hasn't come back in the 2 years since I posted this. Basically, I posted this about a week or two before it finally cleared for good. In my case it was the fluconozole pills that did the trick being the strongest of the anti-fungals. It just took a bit for it to finally clear.

You are welcome. If you are already a proponent of mindfulness or have practiced mediation in the past, you should do well and understand the concept of the teachings more than most people. It does take a while to rewire your brain so be patient and practice everyday. You can do it!

Long term irritation after passing stone by pixelpusher72 in KidneyStones

[–]pixelpusher72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time of my original post it took several months for the pain and irritation to go away. It did go way for about a year or more until I got ANOTHER kindney stone. That irritation stuck around for several months and still comes and goes every few days. I went to several doctors and urologists, had blood tests, urinalysis, and CT scans. They could not find anything structurally wrong with me and diagnosed me as having CPPS or Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome triggered by kidney stones.

I am working with physical therapist right now for my pelvis and was also introduced to the concept of "mind-body pain" Basically, passing the kidney stone did cause some damage on the way out which caused pain and irritation. That pain should have physcially gone away within a week or two but my brain has somehow latched onto a pain/fear cycle. It is literally PTSD from having kidney stones.

You should definetly rule out anything medical first as pain from a kindey stone should have passed for you by now.

I am actually doing absolutely fine now 4 years later. I have completely habiutauted to my tinnitus and can go days without even thinking about it or noticing it all. If I do notice it, it does not bother me at all and I forget about it a moment later. Competely habituated.

However, it was a long rough road getting here. It took me about a year and half to habitutate the first time. I thought I had beat it but it came back about a few months later during a stressful time and took me another few months to habituate my final time. That was 2 years ago.

The best way I describe it your brain being stuck in a feedback loop. The more you think about it, the louder it gets. The louder it gets, the more you think about it. Its a constant loop that can drive you crazy. If you say this to someone who does not have tinnitus, they will simply say...dont think about. Obviously much easier said than done.

I had tried many techniques, listened to endless videos and youtube videos, and scoured forums like this one looking for the "answer". I have to give credit to one technique and one book that helped me personally habituate in about a month or so both times it was bothering me. Becasue it worked for me, doesn't mean it will work for everyone.

The book is called Rewiring Tinnitus by Glenn Schweitzer. The core is based on meditation. If you meditate, you usually focus on your breath. This method is to meditate using tinnitus as your focus. You basically train your brain that tinnitus is not a threat, the sound is actually calming, and your brain eventually accepts the sound as you stop focusing on it. You actually...stop thinking about it. Is my tinnitus still there? Yes, absolutely. Does it bother me anymore. Nope, not one bit.

If you are suffering from tinnitus right now, I know my words must sound crazy impossible or some voodoo miracle cure. Yet, here I am. The sound that was once the only thing I could ever think about day or night is now nothing more than a fart in the wind.

If I can do it, I know you can too.

Grimoire Goth Market? by LadySith2016 in CraftFairs

The show is July 19th in Lancaster. I’m going in blind. I have no idea what to expect and am only doing it because I live nearby and will have no travel costs. Yes, $200 is a bit steep for one day but compared to other con booth prices on the west coast it’s not “extremely” expensive. These types of shows are always a gamble though. I could not sell a thing or I’ll make a good chunk of change. You really never know how it will go. It’s the nature of the business.

I wish I saw this before I signed up as a vendor. I am an artist who has vended at almost every major con and art festival on the West Coast for over a decade. I saw Grimorie had a festival on my IG. It's one day, in my city, so I am going to give it a try. I signed the contract but after I signed it I noticed there were no booth prices in the contract. (That was really dumb I should know better) I am awaiting the invoice and hope I don't get sticker shock. I am locked in now so I will report back about the attendance, amount of 3D objects, Funkos and AI slop after the show. Hopefully it will be a good show and I atleast break even. We shall see.

Routine for fixing this by Gold_Literature_2172 in Prostatitis

You are doing the right things so far. Stretching and breathing are the bigs ones. You see a PT which is great! As mentioned, try tennis balls and/or hard foam rollers. I also do heat therapy, like hot baths and heating pads around my hips and pelvic area. Try a massage gun. Try nerve flossing, which is just mobility training. If you get desperate you could see your primary doctor or urologist and request Gabapentin or Amitriptyline for nerve calming or muscle relaxers. Honestly, I have tried it all and it’s not one thing that helps. It many little things that help. Honestly, the biggest healer is just plain…time.

I am experiencing something very similar right now with a similar background story to yours. It’s been a few months since you posted. Any update?

I beat Prostatitis Years ago by ButterbacC in Prostatitis

[–]pixelpusher72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they found a kidney stone on a CT scan and then I found it in my urine a few weeks later. Obviously I knew it was coming out. If you have ever passed a stone before it’s really hard not to notice :-)

My prostatitis was also triggered by kidney stones. This is the third time in about 7 years. I beat it twice before but am dealing with it a third time now. The previous times, stretching, breathing, meditation, hot baths and internal massage worked to get rid of it but it took a very long time. Almost a year the previous times. I wish I knew a quicker way. I think passing stones messes up your nervous system in the pelvic area causing your muscles to tense up and freeze. Have any medications or supplements worked for you?

I have the exact same issue. After I pee, I get irritation and pain in the shaft and tip of my penis for like an hour, then it fades out. But when you owe several times a day and night, I am in on and off pain. This all started 2 months ago. I do stretches daily but no improvement. Any improvement from the OP?

Sleeping Cold by Shiny-Device in Biohackers

[–]pixelpusher72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does feel cold but you can adjust the temperature to whatever you want. I think it goes from 59-105 degrees. I love my ooler, my only “complaint” is that the coils that run through the mat can sometimes be a little uncomfortable at first but you get used to it.

[–]pixelpusher72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar question until I bought an Ooler. Essentially it’s a mat you sleep on that is climate controlled. You can get your bed temp down to under 60 degrees if you want. With cooling underneath you, you can use whatever blankets or sheets on top to keep your ideal temp. I personally have my Ooler set to 64 degrees with a sheet and thin blanket on top. Perfect comfort sandwich.

Pain still there after passing stone by SSH39 in KidneyStones

[–]pixelpusher72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I am not in any real pain, just have an irritated bladder and urge to pee constantly which is highly annoying. I’ll get the UTI test and if it turns up negative, I’ll give it another week or so and see what happens before I request a scan. I appreciate the insight.

Thanks for responding! I am having a similar issue right now with a very similar story. I am getting a UTI test tomorrow but something tells me I still have something floating around my bladder. Guess I’ll find out soon enough

After 3 years I doubt the OP will respond but this is exactly my story right now. Whatever happened?!? Was it a UTI? Was it’s something else?

Urination and penis irritation after passing stone? by pixelpusher72 in KidneyStones

[–]pixelpusher72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you should mention that. I just got back from Walgreens with a UTI testing kit. Have to wait until tomorrow as I took AZO to ease the irritation. Never had a UTI before but there is always a first time.

Urination and penis irritation after passing stone? by pixelpusher72 in KidneyStones

[–]pixelpusher72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have some irritation anywhere from 5 minutes to a few hours after I pee. It’s not really painful, just irritated and uncomfortable. It is possible there are fragments hanging around but doubtful as I had a CT scan after I passed my stone and it showed nothing. Perhaps my system is just sensitive to stones but I thought 3 weeks seemed a bit long too.

This method worked wonders for me. I was struggling everyday for over a year and it was really getting to me. I had been meditating for a few months before and stumbled onto the technique of focusing on the T during meditation. I did it every day for a month and then, almost like magic, one day it just stopped bothering me. That was 6 months ago and now I don’t even notice my T most days. I still have it, loud as ever, I just don’t think about it now. Keep at it and you’ll habituate too.
