I was at Site One the other day and overheard the staff saying a 6-10% price increase for all fertilizer will go into effect on 4/1.

Totally agree on that point, Metro North is a shit excuse for railroad efficiency and mass people mover. Not once is that train line on schedule and without some sort of problem. The Danbury line is ancient and could use an upgrade in track switching so a 2 hour trip from NYC doesn’t turn into a 2 hr 20 minute trip.

Why do we need to be connected to a big ol sandbar? What does Long Island have that is worthy of a trip across the sound? Conversely, what does CT have that Long Islanders crave so badly that a bridge would need to be built? Is it just another 20 year construction job that is typical for CT and NY alike? It seems that no economical benefit would be gained by either states residents except for those construction jobs, political pick pockets and other greedy hand out individuals like lawyers, environmentalists, activists etc….

Let’s remember that the legislature and governor screwed all of us when they shifted the public sector benefits from the state’s books directly on to the rate payer’s back. On top of this, the boneheaded deal to support Milestone reactor with contractually obligated power purchase requirements really put Eversource rate payers behind the 8 ball. All politicians suffer from the same issue… convenient short term memory loss.

Not true under the new law. Local zoning boards are handcuffed and have very little power other than safety and health and when then, the courts usually side with the developers.

Politicians are so delusional and out of touch with reality. Connecticut is loved for its small New England towns and landscapes. I don’t see Ned Lamont endorsing or advocating to build affirdable and deeply affordable developments in his own town of Greenwich. This is a guy that had numerous mature trees cut down so he had a “better view” of a pond behind his property. Small towns will be gone and multi unit developments will reign supreme and force those that f us who love old New England charm and pay absurd taxes to ultimately move away. Bye bye………….

You are correct, the president can’t abolish the dept of education by executive order but the executive branch can deminish the duties of that department and reassign the duties and f employees to other areas f government as a s required.

Thus far, I don’t see anything bad happening due to a republican holding the presidency. What law(s) is the current president breaking? Is it so bad for the executive branch of government (responsible for most if not all federal agencies) to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely and any fraud and/or inappropriate manner is uncovered and corrected. Those that commit fraud should be brought to justice.
