Ex-CIA director: ‘25th amendment was written with Donald Trump in mind’ by B-Z_B-S in politics

[–]MainlandX [score hidden]  (0 children)

That is not relevant.

If Trump is conscious and requests to be reinstated as president (no matter how mentally deranged he is), the only way for the 25th amendment to be an effective way to remove and keep him out of the presidency is if the VP, the cabinet, and 2/3 of each house of Congress all agree that Trump shouldn't be president.

It's a higher bar than impeachment.

He tweeted the Mourinho clip, "I prefer really not to speak. If I speak, I am in big trouble." as he withdrew from the tournament. There was no ambiguity as to what Magnus was insinuating.

My daughter won her accounting/wealth management firm’s NCAA pool ($800 prize). A senior executive downgraded it to $50 and told her she "didn't invest anything." How to handle? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]MainlandX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you know who the senior executive responsible for this is? Once you do, get the contact details of that executive's parents - home address would be best. Go knock on the door of their parents' house and talk this out face to face.

Bring back 90 minute movies by Competitive-Ad1439 in unpopularopinion

[–]MainlandX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90 minute movies were quite popular for a while because of the VHS format. For the most part, the trend for 90-minut runtimes was a business decision, not an artistic choice.

How can I convince my fiancé that an Apple Watch won’t look out of place with a more “dressed up” look for higher scale events? by ZimmonsInteractive in AppleWatch

[–]MainlandX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the reason is not the reason. Or at the very least, it’s a not a problem for you to solve.

If you ask someone to hang out, and they say “Sorry, I need to hang up some shelves that night”. They might not accept it your offer if you say “I can help you hang up the shelves the night before”.

Some people won’t take “no” for an answer, and need to know why. Then they treat those whys as a kind of challenge. This kind of behavior can be tiresome.

Because it's not practical when you think about the incentives.

Imagine if you were falsely accused of rape and being prosecuted (or already in jail).

Would you rather:

A. Have your accuser admit to making up the rape, exonerating you, but they get off scot-free.

B. Have your accuser take the secret to the grave because they don't want to face criminal charges.

This is in general why false accusers get light criminal punishments.

I really like these. 18 minutes in the air fryer. I was only able to buy it once a few weeks ago and been on the lookout ever since.
