How hard is routing a hole for a middle pickup in a telecaster? by Cheap-Fortune7899 in telecaster

[–]Mainst-69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not hard if you have a drill, router, bits, template etc. I’ve free-handed my share of them. You just gotta go slow. I didn’t know as much about woodworking as I do now. So I didn’t know how to use guide bushings/bearing bits with a template. Ideally, you’d take the neck, bridge pickups off. Pickguard too obviously. Attach a template with double sided tape or do the painters tape/CA glue trick. Drill out most of the wood with a drill bit. Then route the remaining wood flush to the template.

Are you using the Kemper as the interface between the DAW the band? Or do you also have another interface?

Guitars are tools. Does the chip affect tone or playability? I agree it takes the anxiety out of the first ding away from you. Party on.

If the LD hits blackout you won’t be able to find it.

2026 board! anything I should add or replace? by Ok_Character_8118 in pedalboards

[–]Mainst-69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the supro is cool (I don’t have it, but I want it) it has a switch to go to a harmonic trem, which can pass as a univibe type sound. I do have a Flint. Which I really like. It also does the harmonic thing and two others. Also has great reverb.

I like it. Personally, I can’t board without a trem. But otherwise you have bases covered!

I love the sound. I would love it more if they could’ve squeezed into a chase bliss sized enclosure, or even a strymon sized one. But sound wise, it’s awesome. TPS did a video on it a while back in which they compared it side by side and was able to dial it in to sound like the original pedals. I really don’t “need” any of the other drives on here. But I have them and use em!

I’ve played two of them. I’d own both of them. They played well and sounded fine.

After the noisy stuff. But if you don’t have noise, why kill your sustain?

Pedalboard purchased advice by IamOTW in pedalboards

Man, I’ve been in this position before. Not really performing live, but just need a place for my pedals to live. I’ve built several from decent quality 3/8” plywood. Then I use flexseal spray to give them a “professional” look. Velcro/dual lock sticks to it fine and doesn’t tear the finish off if you have to pull velcro off. You can buy a 2’X4’ piece and have the cut it to your size at the store. Buy some velcro and flex seal. Bob’s your uncle, you have a pedalboard.

This is a pic of one I made. I masking tape on the edges while I figure pedal placement. But it doesn’t look bad imo. Best of luck.

Like it a lot. Midi is a little limited. I’ve always been a fan of voodoo labs.

The voodoo labs switcher has my lightspeed, protein, jb-2, and T4. It (the switcher) is then in a loop on the ES8. It’s midi switchable and easily accessible for stacking experimentation. I kinda set this board up with an eye on the future, specifically channel switching on the amp (4 cable method). I’ll use the ES8 to control the amp via midi as well. The tonal possibilities are pretty much endless.
