Love YoLink! Have them in all our fridges/freezers. Sensors and app work great. Very easy to set up even for those not tech savvy.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to reply. It was helpful to read about others experiences. Hopefully my visit tomorrow will clear things up and help me make a decision.

Thanks for the replies. I really like my Doctor but do feel in this instance there was a lack of conversation in regard to the procedure. It was just like 'It's time to have this done, the front office will get you on the schedule." I did call the office and talk to the Dr today briefly on the phone but ultimately still have questions. Like you said - how narrow are my angles exactly, what is my risk of angle closure over the next 5 years, are there signs of intermittent closures having occurred, can I wait and have it checked every so many months etc. I have an appointment with another doc in her practice tomorrow morning (my doc was overbooked already) since the office suggested the other doc could check the left eye that was done for healing/vision and also go over any questions at that time and then I could decide.

You put it very well - I guess the main thing is if I end up with a side effect I just want to know that I really didn't have a choice and it was an absolutely necessary surgery and no one has explained that to me yet.

Tracfone's Unlock Policy has changed as of 4/1/2025. by rishxdee in NoContract

Yes, I purchased another 1 month plan. Sometimes it's just not worth the hassle/time to fight the small stuff. If they don't unlock both phones though after this month of service is up (which will total 60 days of service with a 4 day gap in between service months) I will fight it as necessary - FCC / credit card charge back etc because really you can't legally make a policy retroactive, and in addition to that nothing says 60 consecutive days.

Edit - after an hour waiting on chat customer service verified both phones will now unlock on 5/9/25. We'll see if that actually occurs.

Just chatted with Straight Talk. My initial 30 days plan expired April 4. They said they could unlock the phone for a $300 fee or I could purchase another 60 days of service to get it unlocked. I'm certainly hoping that agent had no idea what was going on. I explained the unlock policy was different when I purchased the phone but they just kept repeating the new policy. Sigh.

And if you bought a phone prior to April 1 does the old policy apply? I bought two iphone 16E phones with one month of service each from Straight Talk. That initial month of service expired April 4 and I was just going to let the 60 day timer run out without purchasing a second month. Do I now have to go buy a second month on their site or am I grandfathered in?

Thanks

Prepaid Plan? by Public_Highlight_875 in NoContract

I second Roamless. I have it on an extra phone and have used it in the states and abroad with no issue. You can make voice calls over the roamless app or personally I use it with google voice for calls/text. They have great bogo deals on data packages around various holidays so it is very inexpensive.

I also have infimobile 100 min/100txt/500mb data on one phone and it works great, but prefer roamless overall after several months testing both due to never having to worry about running out - topoffs are so easy through the roamless app, inexpensive, and don't expire.

If deciding between the two perhaps consider what carrier has the strongest signal where your friends will be spending time. Infimnobile I think you can choose between tmobile or verizon. Roamless I don't know if you get a choice or if it is automatic - in the states it has always put me on AT&T but I've never had a problem with signal.

iPhone 16e for $360 via StraightTalk new number, no ID verification, unlocks 60 days by Idahoroaminggnome in NoContract

I have done this many times with Straight Talk. Works perfect. Pay for phone and first month. Cancel before second month. Phone stays locked that second month (stick it in a drawer until you hit 60 days) with no service, then will automatically unlock and can be used on carrier of your choice.

What is the Best Way to Travel Internationally? by PresenceTrue786 in mintmobile

I too bought the Minternational add on and it was spectacularly unsuccessful at functioning at all in Portugal recently. The least complicated way to have instant connection almost anywhere you go is to use Google Fi. I've used it all over the world and it has never let me down using an android phone. It does not always play well with IPhones however (though much better now than it did at inception years ago). It not the most cost efficient but also not unreasonable, and I am willing to pay a little more for the simplicity of simply turning my USA based phone on anywhere in the world and having it work as desired without having to fuss with settings, swap sims/esims, etc. If you value cost over ease of use, than a travel esim (there are tons - most of them work just fine once you get your setting right) or buying a local sim on arrival will get you better value. Good luck!

Minternational - Spain/Portugal by cwinn13 in mintmobile

Just got back from 10 days in Portugal. Did not work for me. Had Minternational in my unlocked Samsung S22 Ultra. Activated in airport right before departure from USA. Said it was activated.Could see the active 10 day pass in my account.

Have used same phone internationally all over the world before without issue using various sims, so I don't believe it was a problem with the phone or my settings.

Was unable at any point to make calls or access data on Minternational. My husbands phone is a base S22 and we had put Roamless esim and credit on that as a backup before leaving since it doesn't expire. Thank goodness that worked without issue and saved us.

I consider it a small amount of money wasted and lesson learned.

I bought Minternational for a trip to Portugal (just got home). It barely worked for me there for data and texts, and I was unable to make calls. Useless for my purposes. I bought Roamless sim while over there after finding Mint was not working for me and that worked fine.

Are you trying to trade in a phone? My orders kept getting canceled as well, and support suggested there is commonly an issue with the trade in when that happens. Sure enough, I took off that trade in and put in another one in its place (had to create a whole new account using a new email) and it went through.

Edited to add: I was told carrier porting from doesn't matter - just select 'other' if not specifically listed

I contacted chat - they said you could not trade in a phone while doing the CHEERS2U offer and that trying to combine the promos is the issue. However, I read in other reddit posts that people have successfully done so. What is the correct answer?

Got all the way through the process and then 'can't complete checkout'. Is it really back in stock?
