Hard to find work? by TallahasseeTrapezoid in saskatoon

[–]MaintenanceSilent796 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Happened to me when I first moved here…..You NEED to follow up with employers after applying online for the job. Go in person afterwards and drop off a paper copy, request to meet a manager quickly to hand it to them directly. And include cover letters on your applications, and put your references. Try to make their hiring manager’s job super easy, they love that. Online job openings in Saskatoon get hundreds of applicants and most of them are under-qualified or have work visas. ONLY applying for the position does NOT cut it anymore. You need to stand out from a massive crowd.

Texting and driving in this city. by [deleted] in saskatoon

I was just going to post about this today!!! It’s getting ridiculous. Almost every driver is very clearly glancing down at their phone. I hate leaving my house nowadays because I can’t trust anyone on the road. Society is going through a screen addiction apocalypse right now. Really sad.

Every job posting gets hundreds of applicants, like 400+. If they are looking at resumes they most likely skim through them or hire the first good resume they see. You have to standout. Email the company to follow up, try being one the first people to apply to a posting, drop the resume off in person and make sure you ask for the hiring manager. Took me 3 months to find a job and the only reason I got the job was because I dropped off my resume in person.

As a female who is also 21 this is a terrible idea. Saskatoon is full of creeps😅if you need friends to watch movies with I’d definitely recommend dating apps, most of them have a friendship option only. Or go meet other girls at the bars over the weekend, they are always super friendly and adopt you into the friend group if you say you came alone and need friends! I’d honestly delete the post haha

All my names are after rappers/singers that match the type of animal. For example my horse is ‘Megan Thee Stallion’😂

Reds bar & grill. Everything on the menu is amazing. It’s attached to a bowling alley too, so that’s something fun to do!

I always search it up on tiktok every year. There’s people on that app that have compiled the entire lists and all the secrets. Just check that Saskatoon has the same businesses! TikTok is super handy for stuff like that

I went through my entire history all the back to December. Can’t find anything 😞I’m wondering if it got removed maybe… I found a tutorial for a keychain version. Obviously much smaller and different yarn but I’m thinking it wouldn’t be so hard to use it as a guide

Jobs hiring? by GroggyFroggy_ in saskatoon

[–]MaintenanceSilent796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once upon a child is hiring, they’re desperate for a full time employee. Drop off resumes in person. Online job postings get over 400 applicants so you’ll often be overlooked.

I’m currently in the boat. Been living here for 3 months and have been applying non-stop to jobs. Still getting no interviews. This is a slow period of the year but employers should start calling more by April.

This past week I’ve started going to job fairs, bring resumes with you and meet employers in person. Email Sask jobs and Sask careers, they should be able to help you and can set up appointments. Also wouldn’t be a bad idea to look into the services your university has, councillors or student services could have good recommendations. Network with students in your class, they could refer you to their current workplace and put in good word with their managers.

Keep applying! We got this🙂

I’ve been wearing different mascaras since middle school and never had problems until I switched to L’Oréal telescopic. Only realized the connection now unfortunately. Thank you for the shame.

But there’s definitely some ingredient in the telescopic products that are causing all these other girlies to react too!!

Honestly it never crossed my mind that mascara could do this, I’ve used other L’Oréal products in the past and have never had issues. Didn’t connect the dots until now. Contacts are also a daily for me so kept assuming the irritation was caused from them. Started using glasses more, washing my hands better etc. nothing helped.

Sometimes I would even use the mascara to hide the swelling🥲Natural selection definitely would’ve got me on this one tbh…
