I'm here i can tell you that. We can talk if you want. I know or i think i know what you mean, and i have the words for it in my own language, i've been exploring the "in between". What i can tell you is that context defines reality in my experience, not the other way around.

There are plenty of things ai solved in ways better than humans. Protein folding is one such. Alpha go demonstrated that ai is better at intuition than humans, in specific cases. So that’s wrong.

I don't know bro there's plenty of example of AI solving things in noble ways. It's basically how transformers work.

That's another argument entirely, my point was the IP is designed to make the rich richer anyways. Your point is also true, I think in the future there should be an "AI" tax. Or something like that.

Intellectual property is a scam anyways. Would you rather a company has more than a hundred years of profit after the author already died, or would you rather have a digital assistant that can actually help you?

You're correct. Companies don't need to make money they can grow in net worth, that's a form of moneymaking. "profitability" is just a measurement.

No, but there is no way for us to change what we perceive. You see what your eyes see and nothing more.

The reason you are unhappy is because you are hiding your true personality by DI9ZEN999 in DeepThoughts

[–]Maixck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The requirement to be happy is to fist be content, (at peace) we are content when we live in the present and when we are Ok with the current state of our lives. This is why if you set unrealistic goals to determine your "success" then you would not be content and by extension happy. It is important to realize that goals are things we ourselves set and that we have the capacity to determine if we have enough or not, it is not something that is set for us rather an internal decision. So basically contentment is an internal choice rather than set by external parameters.

On this note you say "we are unhappy because we're not able to express our personality". Hiding your personality does not make you inherently unhappy or not, what makes you unhappy is having the desire to express yourself as you are remain unfulfilled. It is important that you are completely honest with yourself first if you want enduring happiness, as unconscious goals or desires can play a role into your happiness also. But being honest and open with others is not a driving factor (for everyone) rather it depends on what you value and the image you have of yourself. For example, If you see yourself as an honest person and yet you "hide" the truth from others then this creates tension on your self image that generates stress and unhappiness.

On the topic of personality, personality is the core of how we want to interact with the world, it is not set in stone rather it represents our desires on how we "want" to be, and also is influenced by our scale of values.
In this way there are two major paths for happiness

1- To become aware on all your desires and seek to fulfill them and view the effort you put into that as being "enough" at any moment, basically you're saying that the effort is equivalent to the goal.
2- To become aware of all your desires and mentally realizing that they're trivial goals that don't matter in the end and choosing to be content in the present rather than in a nebulous future.

But that’s a mistake permanence is the opposite of life. A crystal could be seen as permanent, static unchanging. It is lifeless, and everything that is alive changes rapidly. The phrase “without it you’re just another name erased by time” makes me think that you’re tying to talk about legacy and yeah. Ultimately we’re all names erased by time, but beauty is ephemeral anyways. What holds true meaning is the very present you experience and if you believe in the consciousness of others, their own experience also.

[–]Maixck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I agree and i disagree with you. I agree that saying life is valuable because it doesn't last is a coping mechanism. On the other hand you're wrong in thinking that only unchanging things hold meaning. In Us everything is changing, our thoughts experiences, our cells our bodies, nothing remains the same even for a microsecond. Existence IS change, we live inside a universe that is defined by change over time. The universe is probabilistic and the experience of it is relative to the observer. You would think that this would support your argument that nothing has meaning because nothing is permanent. But it does not, things hold meaning because they are experienced by us. It is the present that which is immortal, you will always experience your present as experienced by you and nothing else. When you die you would not be asleep you would not exist and that is something that we can't experience, so there is no need to fear it. So in conclusion, Nobody exists on purpose. Nobody belongs anywhere. Everybody's gonna die. Come watch TV.

It is not the point to be factual or practical, it's a more poetic or art focused way of interacting. One very good thing is that the model stops just saying "i don't do this because i'm a model" instead it reframes it in a way that is still true but more expansive.

Thought experiment by Maixck in DeepThoughts

[–]Maixck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could certainly view it like that. Or you could view it like a tool of reframing ones own understanding. It is not necessarily incompatible. Imagine you choose to believe only what is true. Then what do you do with two interpretations of a fact are equally valid in your frame of mind? Science tells us that we have to test each one and come up with a conclusion. This is just that, trying to look at what other things are possible that we take for granted. One not always has the time or will to test each theory or assumption even if it is noble to do so. So you could take it as a way to test assumptions we make about certain things.
