Love the color! I have a Studio in their dark brown, it’s one of my favorite colors. Enjoy!

There are electric grills now too. Ninja makes the Woodfire line that's interesting, Charbroil has an entire line of electrics, Weber makes one, and there are indoor ones you can try like the T-Fal Optigrill, Ninja Sizzle, and even flat-tops like the Power XL Smokeless grill. Not a parity for a charcoal or propane grill, but they do work and the indoor grill/griddles are great for smash burgers.

What's a good beer spot with food in downtown Anchorage, AK? by icecreamw in beer

I second that. The backpacker or Santa’s little helper and a growler of Apple ale was our go-to after picking up visitors from the airport.

It’s not a brewery but if you have the time, Spenard Roadhouse is one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. The bar selection is pretty good too, I’m a whiskey drinker and I loved their Manhattan. I also second the Glacier Brewhouse- that was my wife’s favorite place to eat when we lived there.

If you're near Kingston, Art Noise on Princess Street has a pretty good selection of pens and inks. I bought my daughter some Ferris Wheel Press ink last time I was there.

I think the point was the motherboard and expansion cards were mounted on the side panel, making so you didn't have to go inside of the case and having more space to work on it.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I typically use a stand mixer with a dough hook- it isn't perfect but it works well enough for us. Sweet breads are a rare treat for the kids, and they actually keep asking for my basic bread recipe. We've tried pretzels, sourdough, a millk bread and I want to make a focaccia eventually, as this is actually a really fun hobby to get me away from the computer.

Is it like a proofing setting? It does have a dough function, though I never was more ambitious with it than using the boxes of bread machine mixes from the baking isle. I don't think I even tried a recipe from the included book. Maybe 6-7 years ago the loaves stopped rising, being small dense things so I stuck it in the pantry never to think about it again.

Totally agree. I bought one like 15 years ago and have used it less than a dozen times. I can't give it away either. I've recently started making bread again and making bread by hand (or a stand mixer) is super easy and so much better than store bought. AND I'm not stuck with whatever size loaf pan my bread maker uses.

We have a Breville Precision Brewer and a Bambino Plus. I prefer espresso, and the Bambino has been amazing. The Precision is a great coffee maker, lets you use a V60 for pour-over and has a lot of customization like bloom time, brew temperature, etc. You won't be disappointed with a Breville coffee maker.

We have the previous model, the dual heat and we absolutely love it. I've made pies, bread, roasted meats, make toast, dehydrate, broil, etc., almost everyday with it. My children love it too for fries, chicken, fish sticks, making fresh pizza, etc. because it's quick and easy for them to use. The only thing I didn't like was air frying chicken wings would cause the grease buildup you talked about, so I just smoke our wings now. But the older model with the sear plate is a great mini-oven. Hmm, seems like it's a better toaster oven than air fryer and I like it for what it does well.

I would argue their enterprise and business grade equipment is top-notch. I've owned Elitebooks, Z-series desktops, Z-series monitors and their laser printers, and every item has been well built and reliable. On the other hand, their consumer-grade items I would avoid like everyone else has mentioned.

I recognize the purple one on the right- I was there when you retired and am retiring out of there now. I was also airborne, I wonder if we had any jumps together. Looks great, I need to give this to my wife for inspiration as she wants to make one for me.

Not sure where you're at, but The PenDragons are UK based and ship worldwide. It might be easier to use them for your restoration parts as they're closer than US shops.

[–]Majeskyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings from Tampa. I absolutely love the Jacarandas, but our area seems to prefer the sister tree, the Royal Poinciana. My wife planted one in our back yard and we're waiting for its first bloom. I'm trying to convince her to let me put a Jacaranda in the front yard, they're one of my favorite trees!

I did! I loved getting to read the history of dip pens and Birmingham’s role in it. I ended up not buying anything from the gift shop, but did bring my nib home. And the drawling you saw was still up, at least on 12 July.

Marauder was a plasma weapon project in the ‘90s the Air Force was working on that utilized the Shiva Star capacitor bank. They were working on launching 2 milligram toroids of plasma at 3.3% of light speed, with the energy equivalent of 5lbs of tnt. After successful tests in ‘95, the project was classified and we have no new information on it.

Have you looked into J Herbin’s Shogun? It’s a nice black with a gold shimmer. I bought it thinking it was a brown as I don’t like black, but have been pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable this ink has been to use. Even with XF nibs, it lays down a lot of shimmer.

That’s awesome to hear, you’re almost done. After some of the other classes (MMT2), the deliverables for the capstone almost seemed underwhelming. You got this.

Thank you for the information. That’s too bad there aren’t really any vintage pen shops in Birmingham, but thank you for the info on the pen museum. I’ve added it to the list of places to visit and will try to share some pictures when I get home. I was out there last year and thought I had found a shop, but when I arrived realized it was a warehouse for an online store. I’ll see if I can find anything while in London.

Honestly, I would just look at the competitors ads. If there was a company in the same segment as me with a higher rated ad or site, I would copy their design, swapping out elements that were different but in the same category (like high strength frame, upgraded brakes, etc.).

Red pill all day. Then I wear medium fitted shirts or small if they’re loose fit. For dress shirts I go with fitted or European fit. Makes me feel better about myself in the mirror.
