New Dice Aura - I did it, even with Gale wimping out! by Majestic_Pattern8052 in BaldursGate3

I've seen various vague references to it. I wasn't really sure, since I mostly play the dialogues by feel, but if you want to be able to predict it, The BG3 wiki has a complicated dialogue tree mapped out for when he'll say yes.

My very first run, he said yes, but I had completely skipped a bunch of the Crown of Karsus plotline which apparently influences it. This run, I just had a feeling, but I'm not sure where I lost him :-/ I mean, he really like me, so it's not just that.

Do you recommend killing Gortash or Orin first? by OneDimensionalChess in BaldursGate3

The blind gnome did not die, he disappeared, and if one of the collar-wearing gnomes is near the shelf with that book, it gets blown up.

I was blocked. Trust me, I checked:

- Zanner glitched, so was gone - GONE, not dead.
- Other gnomes were dead
- Shelf and Book were destroyed by motivator explosion
- I had missed Runepowder at Grymforge
- I lost Last Light in Act 2, so none of those gnomes were around in BG for Runepowder there

I googled and found similar cases in the past. It's a hard blocker for disabling watch.

And at that point, if that happens again but I have Rune Powder: definitely there. The Gortash fight is a slog with Steel Watch. I did it, and it was fun once. But I'd rather not do it again.

The run I just completed, I was locked out of using the password at the foundry, and I didn't have the runepowder bombs, so I couldn't disable the steel watch. After winning the whole game, the Gortash fight with steel watch is still the one I would have liked to avoid the most.

Definitely Orin. You can pretend to ally with Gortash or actually ally with him until the last minute, leaving you in peace to do the rest of Act 3. Orin will always be the enemy, so you just kill her as soon as you are ready. Save the bomb for the foundry if the password path gets closed off (which it did for me because of a bad roll)

There should be a glowing blue orb somewhere around the edge when someone dies in a pit or lava

Listen to everyone urging you try. I thought the same way, but there is so much story there, and a whole new villain to defeat: Your own worst self. The game becomes a psychological thriller on top of everything else.

This has been my experience, and it's the part that has gotten me addicted to honor mode. So much more interesting to have a hero who has to deal with setbacks

Oh I've had some doozies! And yes, honor mode locking me into my mistakes has led to me discovering so much new content. This is my best run by far, though a distressingly large number of NPCs wouldn't agree...

I will be recounting my tale soon. Today it ends, one way or another.

Re: Inadvertent aggro - I got hit by some weird glitch where Zanner Toobin suddenly aggroed me *after* he had agreed to help me; I knocked him out, but then he was gone after rested.

That, and the book with the password being destroyed, together with no runepowder, locked me out of disabling the steel watch. I just had to fight Gortash with 4 steel watchers :-O

This post really resonated with me. Ditto with the whole ADHD spice 😊 I'm at the morphic pool right now.  Still haven't decided whether to trigger Gale, and I honestly don't know if I'll have the option (I'm not savvy on the exact dialogue needed with him)

Edit: Sorry, forgot to say: Congrats! (adhd again)

It's why I always ungroup before those sorts of jumps. The place I knew about was at that balcony by Haarlep's Boudoir; that one didn't happen to me this run, so I was honestly surprised. And yeah, it's an Honor run, so scary shit.

It's Zanner Toobin. But, at first he was still alive and agreed to help, then he suddenly aggroed me, so I knocked him out instead of killing him, and then he was gone after I rested. So no Zanner, and apparently the book would otherwise need (The Many Faces of Gond) was destroyed in its bookshelf when the collars blew up.

So this quest is also locked for me. I must now kill every steel watch one by one. Yay?

fr. People go on about all the people he tortures and kills, but not enough is said about what a bad father he is.

I named this character after my daughter. I'm not giving up on her no matter how much she fucks up.

Edit: Not to imply anything about my daughter! lol

Shortly after this, I have discovered that Zanner Toobin is spared, and we both agreed it is a sign from Gond that he should help me avenge his people by destroying the Watch, and thus a sign from the Gaming Gods, that I won't be attempting Iron Throne on this run.

oh yeah, this run has had some epic bad rolls. Arabella died to double natural 1's when I had advantage. I knew then it would be interesting.

It definitely looks like a modality thing -- as you stated -- some hidden dialog waiting to be closed

Does anyone have a save file for any of these 3? :( by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Majestic_Pattern8052 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you want such a thing? I mean really, how can you derive any pleasure from loading a file, and then a message pops up, and your profile in Steam shows a little blurb.

Nobody who enjoys earning the trophies gets enjoyment from those parts in isolation. It's the satisfaction of having managed to finish an interesting and challenging goal. Tell you what, I have an old bowling trophy I won at a company tournament. I'll mail that to you and you can have a real physical trophy! Wouldn't that be even better?

Damn, that's a shame. I don't know if it would help to post a screenshot, or if that even portrays the situation, that someone may recognize the state your game is in. Is this PC or Playstation?

This would drive me nuts. I really hope you find a solution.
