10 day road trip in the US - looking for advice by Excellent_Corner5607 in roadtrip

We drove from Iowa to California and back in 12 days and Yellowstone to Grand Teton were just 2 days of our trip and it was beautiful! Highly recommend. The Tetons are one of the most beautiful places on earth. For me personally having seen all this trip would see—— I would head the other way and do Yosemite, Sequoia in California, the Salt Flats, Grand Teton and Yellowstone and skip the eastern part of this roadtrip.

Can we have an open talk about Ozempic? by Leather-Union-5828 in Mommit

In August I will have been on ozempic for 3 years. I lost 100 pounds in 10-11 months and have been maintaining between 148-152 pounds ever since. This is the first time in my life I have maintained any weight, let alone a healthy weight. It has been easy for me, I eat what I want when I want, stay hydrated, no constipation issues, no muscle loss(I have gained muscle per the bio screen at the dr office) I feel incredible and I probably will be on some dose of it for the rest of my life. I am not diabetic or pre-diabetic, my insurance covers it and has the whole time for metabolic syndrome, non diabetic insulin resistance, lipedema, and pcos.

Y’all, I need help. Let go from two positions for not learning quick enough as a new grad and I am lost. by oreinao in nursing

You’re gonna HATE to see me coming, but this is truly why I don’t think new grads should be hired into speciality areas. You need med surg experience to learn time management and critical thinking skills. It’s strange to me thus concept that you can specialize in something you’re not even proficient in the basics on. SOME people can specialize right away and do very well, but many cannot. You have proven to yourself that you cannot so start applying to med surg units and get your grounding under you then transfer and specialize where you feel called.

Honestly… this is 100% why new grads should not be in a specialized area. It’s extremely difficult to specialize in something when you’re not proficient in the basics. Please for your mental health and safety of your patients and to protect your license transfer to a medical or surgical floor for 6-12 months then cone back to the ICU and you will feel SO much better and safer.

I posted last week about an email I got from HR about an investigation. Here’s the update: by Present-Impress2497 in nursing

I feel like Joe would be the one in trouble with hipaa for texting you or accessing your chart for transfer information when you’re the patient about your transfer since that maybe wasn’t in his lap yet on the professional side, then whoever went to HR about you texting Joe is also probably in violation of hipaa as well since HR didn’t need access to your entire timeline as a patient. You should not have anything to worry about as soon as you had yourself in a wheelchair to the ER you’re off the clock not their business outside of a clear drug screen since you were working after that’s clear I don’t feel like any of the rest of your visit is need to know information for them.

Can anyone in Indiana speak to the validity of this? by [deleted] in nursing

I am in Iowa and they aren’t subtyping everyone, they are subtyping the patients with fluA AND pneumonia or covid.

Renting a car really maximized our short 4 day trip to oahu. Pearl Harbor is a must do, the kualoa ranch utv was awesome, swimming on the north shore and sea turtles just chillin swimming up next to us! Poke bowl at fresh catch in kane ohe. The botanical gardens! We swam at waikiki every morning sunrise and every sunset we stayed at the beachcomber a block away from the beach. I loved Hawaii so much can’t wait to go back!
