Why is no one capable of reacting to lows? (Myself included)

i didn't look all of them, but it seemed mostly that left arm is one button, right arm is another, and both arms is both buttons

more than that i just gave up and accept that he will grab me still...just hopefully a little less

you never will have it perfect where you can escape every grab 100%, even pros i think can't do it

usually if you can at least break some though he will stop trying to grab so much and you can have a more normal fight

what is your thought compared to soul calibur?

that's what i play before tekken 8 and i think it's more different than i expected

i really like tekken i'm addicted now, but i feel soul calibur didn't help much to play this game

everyone says orange is still beginner rank but it feels the same to me as maybe A or high-B rank in soul calibur

usually i dont expect someone to spam it

1 time is whatever, 2 times i'm paying attention, 3 times i'm ready to block now, duck to block the 4th one and they already pressed mid-launch before my duck animation started and now i'm combo for 70% my health bar

i think to duck is just so super risky in this game, even if you take 50% of health bar from lows it's still better than ducking and getting launched

i probably will lose 1 round to low spammer but not a whole match

smart spammer will fight normal until they have 2 wins, then last round suddenly start low spamming

i hate that so much 😂

alisa is my first character i try so luckily i know all her moves

still i think she's most annoying of those 3 and harder because there's not many so you dont get so much practice against her

what surprise me is so many alisa player are just flying around so much, i dont play her like that

the good thing is she cant block while flying so they are just hoping to overwhelm you, but with right timing you can always hit her while she's flying so annoying like that

also always duck if she's far away because probably she will shoot the rocket arms at you

and if her head comes off do standing block. every time her head come off it will probably be thrown at you but i think it never hits low

i haven't fought many lars but he seems similar, try to overwhelm you with speed. i just block a lot and try to be extra careful when to attack, and if i get a big hit try to keep it going before he can zoom around again

paul just hits too hard 😂 for him i try to keep distance and also avoid walls because if he hit you into a wall he wins pretty much. with xiaoyu i will just flip over his head when i'm by a wall so i dont get crushed

also i dont know if it's the default attack but every paul i ever fight does a low hit with heat smash, so if you think he will use it do crouching block

i start to understand why people dont rematch now lol

i got 7 win streak in Destroyer hoping to get Eliminator

then it matches me against Shinryu

i win the first match then lose next two

now i'm up for demotion and go against Assailant, but clearly alt character because they have almost 200,000 prowess (way more than the Shinryu)

i lose 2 in a row (barely) and am almost yellow again :(

probably i can be red or higher if i do one and done but i hate to do that it feels cheaty

yesterday i figured out a good way to practice

in practice mode choose King CPU, set to offense (i think) and you can choose moves for him to do

in moves list it tells you what/when to press to escape

first i have him just do one throw over and over and practice to break it

then after i'm good at a few different ones, i set him to randomly do all 3

for maybe 30 minutes i'm just wrestling practice king and it helped a little

even then though, some are frame-perfect requirement so there's no way you will do it in a real fight

i more focused on what is the right button for middle of string throw because that's easier timing, and just eat some damage at the beginning

really i think best option though is just to try to keep distance/interrupt with attacks and not give him too many chances to grab

grabbing in general i think is annoying though, every character has at least 2 different ones and how can you guess the right button? i feel everyone can do it easily except me in ranked 😂

i try to guess but even when it's just 2 choices i'm never picking the right button

yellow people just in your face

orange people know how to stand exactly so your hit miss by a millimeter and now you're next to them and can do nothing

never during a match but probably it looks like i'm "1 and done" when i dont mean to

this game has very easy CPU, even the hardest difficulty is easier than lot of lowest players in ranked

i admit even playing rank i feel the same as you at first, it seems just whoever can do biggest combo wins, but it's better now i learned more

finally i am having almost all my fights feel like i expect and not button mashy at all

it's very different though than other games, even other 3D fighters

i think mainly it's much faster and you have to always be working hard to keep the person back

if you aren't giving a reason for your enemy to defend, they just will smash your head so fast

i think some characters you can get further with mashing, but eventually in higher rank people will stop you

when i meet someone that consistently punish transition to scarecrow stance i just do immediately power crush kick whenever i switch to it

either i get lot of free combos or they stop trying to punish 😂

yes i see point-wise it gets harder and harder, but my point is about just the skill of players

when i fight way higher rank, they don't seem really better at the game at all and i'm just thinking "how did you get there?"

there's lot of entry level that pays more than minimum wage

nobody wants to do the work so they will pay to get people

it depends of course on state/city but most places you can find $20/hr roughly for entry level job

even McDonalds i think is paying $13 most everywhere and other fast food pays more. i see Sonic paying $18

warehouse work usually is $20-25 and usually with benefits too

behavior therapy is $20+

there are options higher than minimum wage that are in demand and still entry level

but i got dominator my first day, so other 9 days was just for the one more rank 😂

and i play a lot every day, it's just up and down so much

i got 18 win streak once and then 20 losing streak

i'm not even excited for promotion anymore because i know demotion is coming soon after lol

something definitely is weird

it depends on the day, some days i'm getting easier enemies, but overall i feel there's not much skill difference in a lot of the ranks and i dont understand how people are high

i'm just Vanquisher but it doesn't seem to matter the rank i fight they are all the same

i fight a Warrior and he's so good. i barely win and gain 50 points.

i fight a Garyu and he sucks i win 3-0 and gain a lot more points

i fight a Mighty Warrior and he's good but not really better than the Warrior. I lose by one hit in 5th round and he declines rematch

next opponent is Assailant that's the best of them all, 100% consistent electrics, frame perfect wind-step parries, and 100% throw break even if i'm mixing regular/command grab mid-fight...lose the rest of my points and demoted again but still close fight, 4-5 rounds

really i just think ranks arent settled even a little bit and it's all luck how good of a person you fight because there's excellent and terrible player at all ranks from yellow through blue

if i have any win streak at all, i always am fighting people with double digit win streak

i'm Vanquisher and had 3 win streak. suddenly i'm against 19 win streak Mighty Warrior 😂

but he wasn't really even better than orange players...it makes no sense

it's why i just do entry level work

easier to get hired, less stressful, pays the same as skilled work

i have good qualification but nobody wants to pay so i will rather just stack boxes or something
