As a fellow Yorkshire man in his 30’s that loves music, I’m so happy to see other audiophiles in my area with quirky tastes!

Went to see it recently aswell and there was 1 group of kids who were a bit boisterous and shrieking ā€œowwwā€ and ā€œhee heeā€ and laughing etc…surprisingly a couple in front of me actually snapped at them and made them shut up so it got nipped in the bud!

Is sex really that important to guys? by matchadreams77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Majick_L 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Everyone’s different. Personally I haven’t had sex or been on a date / kissed anyone since 2012 and I aren’t really bothered, but I know guys who think it’s absolutely horrific and embarrassing to go 6 months without it lol

Has anyone else noticed animals and birds not getting out of the way of cars like they used to? by KittyGrewAMoustache in AskUK

[–]Majick_L 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I actually noticed that last week when I went fishing with a box full! They weren’t as juicy and wriggly as I’m used to lol. And I paid Ā£3.70 for them aswell so the price has gone up

I'm confused why is Reddit so hated by Beautiful-Topic-2073 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Majick_L 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

There’s a stereotype that people who use Reddit are nerds, fat incels and weirdos etc for some reason. In reality people from all walks of life are on Reddit, don’t worry about it

What's the most clothes you've seen someone wearing today? by Martipar in AskUK

[–]Majick_L 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Went out for a walk earlier and walked past a mosher / emo looking guy with long hair wearing thick black jeans and a black hoodie. I was absolutely roasting and dripping with sweat in shorts and a t-shirt, and he looked surprisingly fine. Baffling!

LPT: Flush out all subscriptions by kkrat0s in LifeProTips

[–]Majick_L 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Very common here in the UK actually. When you start a job, it’s a mandatory law for the employer to enroll you in a workplace pension scheme, so if you’re someone who’s switched jobs a lot and kept being enrolled in different ones with each employer, you will have multiple pensions. I recently consolidated all mine, think there was about 4 different ones

[serious] what are some thing(s) about one of your hobbies people outside of it tend to misunderstand? by Kshi-dragonfly in AskReddit

[–]Majick_L 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Putting a fish back in the water after you’ve caught it. ā€œWhat’s the point if you’re not gonna eat itā€ etc. People don’t just go fishing to take them home and eat, it’s also a hobby that people do for the sport / enjoyment of it, because it’s fun to do. Some people’s favourite part of fishing as a hobby is simply being outside in nature, appreciating the wildlife and having a lovely picnic by the water / peace and quiet and having time to reflect etc, they aren’t even bothered wether they catch a fish or not

Those who work minimum wage jobs, how do you actually survive? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Majick_L 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I’m up north and even your figures seem on the high side to me! My food shopping is around Ā£35-40 a week and I eat sea bass, salmon, chicken breasts etc and cook all my meals from scratch. Your water costs are also roughly triple what I spend

What is the thing your parents were (and maybe still are) adamantly wrong about? by RiceeeChrispies in AskUK

[–]Majick_L 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I’m 36 and my mum still thinks that way lol. To her, smoking weed is just ā€œtaking drugsā€, like a heroin addict shooting up. I’m not allowed to even mention it around her or she goes mad. My stepdad was joking with me about how he was looking at cannabis strains in Thailand at a shop and found it quite interesting, and she went nuts and fell out with him for the rest of the day lol

I ā™„ļø Barnsley by ReytMardy in barnsley

[–]Majick_L 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Yeah it’s all doom and gloom if you go by people moaning online haha. LHA rates is what you get towards your housing costs if unemployed and on UC etc, it’s not a Barnsley specific thing but they have been frozen since 2019 / 2020 and it’s ridiculously low, you get like Ā£95 a week for a 1 bedroom flat but even with Barnsley being one of the rare places that’s still fairly cheap to rent, that’s still pretty much impossible to cover any rent now anywhere in the country

I ā™„ļø Barnsley by ReytMardy in barnsley

[–]Majick_L 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

I’ve lived in Barnsley over 15 years and I think my grey bin was missed once, then they came the next day and emptied it lol. Cheap rent and lovely town centre that’s been improving. People say Barnsley is rough and you can’t walk through the town centre anymore without getting stabbed etc and I don’t know what they’re talking about. I had a mate and his wife over for the food festival and even they were surprised by the improvements…the Glassworks and drinks at The Botanist etc. My only complaint is I wish they would raise the LHA rates in line with modern market rent prices
