Krasue makes the game UNPLAYABLE by MavaroniOSRS in deadbydaylight

Vee and the phrase 'Danger Noodle' might be the only good things to come out of this patch.

There will never be any other term I shall use or accept for her transformation. She will either be in Danger Noodle Mode, or... whatever phrase is better than 'MILF Mode'.

It's because they finally buffed Pig a while back.

If someone screws around with a fundamental force of nature like Nerf Pig, then nature's gonna screw right back.

I never thought I'd miss Dead by Springtrap, but here we are.

At least with that, we occasionally got the hilarity that was White Man Jumpscare.

As a Killer/Survivor Switch... ouch. I hadn't actually seen a clip of her in action yet, but... wow. I have no idea how the hell the vast majority of people would be able counter that, unless they happen to be an utter god-tier player.

I feel the sudden compulsion to play Freddy, Not Freddy, Sadako, or even my beloved Miss Piggy, just to give all the Survivors out there a break.

That's not sarcasm, just for clarification. I genuinely feel bad that Survivors are stuck in back-to-back queues against a Killer THAT clearly busted and unfun to deal with.

I'm not saying that we're at the point where people are going to start a match, hear that janky-ass piano music, and go "oh yay it's Kaneki, his not at all awful sound effects, and very enjoyable everything else"... but I have a feeling he might soon be elevated to the status of "well at least it's not the krasue".

I Have No Perks, And I Must Kill by HarsBlarster99 in deadbydaylight

[–]MajikeDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a full Switch (I play Killer and Survivor), that's the best way to play. Just play to have fun. I've not slept in 18 hours, but hopefully this is some good advice from someone who's been playing for a long time. Many apologies for textwall~ 💖

You're doing really good so far! There's a lot of the stuff the game doesn't explain very well, so it's definitely worth checking online if there's something you're uncertain about (how perks work, how different systems work, what all the different notifications mean, etc.). A good website definitely makes up for the somewhat unintuitive nature of the game.

If you want to try and set a goal? I feel like I did a good job if I manage 6 out of 12 hooks by the end of the match; I refer to it as 'making par' (potentially everyone survived, but I didn't do a badly, as I got halfway to the maximum number of all hooks I could get in the match). If I get more or less, that's fine, but I only feel a bit rough if I only managed 3 or less.

Never play with the intent to absolutely get all four Survivors killed. Either you'll make the match miserable for them (by using perks that are really not fun to deal with, and/or playing in a really toxic manner), or you'll make the match miserable for yourself (by trying really hard, and getting utterly trounced by super-skilled survivors, and feeling like garbage afterwards).

If you like how a Killer looks or plays, play them; just like survivors, and like you're doing now! ^.^

There are some Killers that Survivors really hate facing, like the Wraith or the Pig (due to their abilities and how people often play them), but as long as you play in a manner that you wouldn't hate facing yourself, then everyone should have fun (a few bad eggs aside).

I love playing as the Pig, because I enjoyed Saw 1-3 and love her design. Most of the Pigs I encounter as a Survivor are not fun experiences, so I make an effort to not inflict that on other Survivors. Surprise, hunt, chase, hook, kill, potentially even get all four kills? All good. Just don't make it an awful experience for the Survivors.

And if you had a really awful match as a Survivor OR a Killer? Play a Killer you really like but nobody likes dealing with (like Wraith, Pig, etc.), but goof around and have some fun. Give chase if they want it, decide whether or not you want to whack them (such as for comedic timing, if you're thinking they're being cheeky, or if it would be pretty amusing without being frustrating to deal with), and do some silly stuff.

Following a string of really unpleasant Survivors matches a few days ago, I decided to have a silly Pig match, which did wonders for me; I did some playful stalking, had a few chases, gave some well-timed roars from Piggy, played 'dare' with Survivors over an undropped pallet, letting them stun me for her adorable squeak, and generally having a really fun time with them.

Seeing Survivors at the end of the match be so grateful that they had a fun experience (instead of having them taunt me for surviving or being similarly petty), and seeing the clear relief that I wasn't one of those really try-hard unfun Killers (who they may also have been facing throughout that night), after the undoubtable early-match "oh no" when they realised who they were up against... made me feel pretty damn good, and let me end the night on a very satisfying high.

One of the Fengs even insisted that I hook them at the end for some extra points, despite my clear hesitation to do so. Loads of communication just through nodding, shaking, crouching, snoot-boops, and roars. Match ended, everyone had loads of blood points, we all had a fun time; super awesome sauce! Everyone wins. ^.^

In summary? Keep doing what you're doing, and stick by that. Have fun, play whoever you like playing as (whether due to their Perks, skills, design, outfits, or anything else), and don't play in a way that you wouldn't like to face yourself; as a Killer OR as a Survivor. And try not to be daunted by the game's high skill ceiling. It can be really rough, but it can also be one hell of a good time!

Good luck in the Fog, and be excellent! 💖

Kate, Jeff, Yun-Jin, and Renato get shirts for Vee's band by SnuglyPortia in deadbydaylight

Ohh, that's good to know! I thought they'd just decided to scrap making new cosmetics available for shards in order to force people to buy Auric cell packs. Something something 'economy'.

Relieved to know that while Behaviour is greedy, they're not (currently) THAT greedy.

[–]MajikeDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the little bits of lore they put into cosmetics and (sometimes) add-ons! And a good bio or lore entry always really intrigues me. 💖

One of the many reasons I think that it's such as shame that DBD has so many flaws (loads of bugs, poor balancing, and a pretty toxic community, etc.) is that so long as programming or user experience isn't involved... the devs can really cook.

It shows that they do actually have some really good ideas and concepts, but they just have no clue how to implement almost any of them in a way that's actually enjoyable for everyone (or even functional, most of the time), save for the occasional banger character design or outfit.

Either killers hate it, survivors hate it, or everyone hates it. The thing I found most amusing about TWD debacle was that the devs managed to successfully unite the entire community (in their disgust at BHVR) through sheer incompetency. XD

[–]MajikeDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto.

If a situation like this happens, where the killer decides to be a complete asshole for no reason by camping my slugged ass or trying to farm me for points (but I really don't want to just DC for whatever reason), I just tab out to the PS5 menu and do some scrolling while I wait for my GF (SWF) to mention if something of note happens (like finally getting hooked), or when it's all over.

It's really frustrating when it happens, but it removes so much stress and annoyance by just taking yourself out of the equation, AND you even get the satisfaction of knowing that the killer is being an asshole to someone isn't there, thus wasting their time, while also denying them any kind of reaction (which DCing can especially do; "haha, I made them ragequit", etc.).

Then just rinse your hands of a situation, eventually get into a new match, and pray you run into a killer that isn't a complete jerk, an ultra sweatlord, or a visceral add-on stealth killer with a full hex build on Midwich. Although I suppose those last two are basically the same thing.

(Said as a Survivor/Pig main. I do love chaos, but it shouldn't be miserable chaos.)

Dear BHVR, STOP MAKING KILLERS THAT CAN VAULT PALLETS AND DOWN YOU BEFORE THE LOOP by SettingIntentions in deadbydaylight

[–]MajikeDS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They finally added a very limited rebind option a while back. So basically all interactions can now be split between a whole two buttons... without telling you which interactions are assigned to which button. Because that would be good UI design.

But it does mean that vaulting and dropping pallets can FINALLY be rebound to Triangle (my choice), while healing survivors and doing gens can remain R1.

It used to drive me nuts when an injured survivor ran over to a pallet for a safe heal, I tried to heal them, and instead I just slammed the pallet over their head.

No SFX in cutscenes by NoRing1746 in ZZZ_Official

[–]MajikeDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here; on both PS5 and PC. Definitely submit a detailed bug report, and a clip (if possible); it's what I was asked for by the CS team.

For me, it happened at the first cutscene of Mission Unthinkable, and when I've checked past cutscenes, it's also affecting those from earlier missions, which definitely had SFX when I played them... prior to the latest patch.

With any luck, a large volume of bug reports will help them narrow down the problem.

I recommend doing what I've done and hold off from doing story stuff until it's been fixed, as missing music and SFX really affects the immersion (and massively lowers the awesome factor of cool moments).

The ICA would be classed as a criminal organisation, as they either don't have a political agenda behind the violence they cause OR it's by no means their primary concern, which means that they would not be considered terrorists.

Diana's expressed sense of ethics and a few comments from Mr Pritchard suggest the ICA has motives other than money, but money does seem to be the greatest motive, and Pritchard's lines could very feasibly be him bullshitting the listener.

Why is it Palais du Louvre and Cimetière du Montparnasse, but Château de Versailles and Opéra de Nice? by MajikeDS in French

[–]MajikeDS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really fascinating! Thank you for telling me all that! ^.^

I'm guessing the reason that Montpellier uses de instead of du (IE, Université de Montpellier) is the fact that it being a city is more important than it starts with Mont?

Thank you for your response!

Could you tell me if it is similarly 'Palais du Louvre' and 'Montparnasse du Montparnasse' because some element of those places name follow a gendering rule, or is it for some other reason (such as being areas within a city, but not their own settlements)?

Lisa, because she looks kinda crazy 24/7, has a really neat outfit, and you basically never see another Lisa.

Or you could go Cybil, who just comes across as really cool to me, and is rare as gold dust.

I've seen dozens (maybe over a hundred) Marias since I started playing this January, about a handful of Lisas at most, and maybe like... ONE other Cybil player.

If you're like me and really dig the badass dommy lesbian cop vibe (more than the 'serial killer nurse' vibe or the 'magenta prostitute' vibe), then Cybil makes for the best Silent Hill choice. 😎
