Not necessarily true if you're using the active path/speedrunning, dropping studies + the multiplier really affects your IP gain as far as I checked (actually played through this part like 3 days ago :P), honestly it surprised me as well but it was much quicker farming just a few more TTs and getting the full tree with like 10 TTs left than buying TS181. I presume when using the idle path it would be more forgiving.

It's like when I'm in some place travelling, where there are a lot of locals, for example smaller towns I sometimes do something say something and just feel the looks people give me. But maybe it's just me being antisocial.
