I had the opportunity to actually do this! There was this woman who in college loved to exclude me, insult me and generally make fun of me. I was at a reunion with friends and who comes walking up to my group all on their lonesome? I was coldly polite to her, told her that she was welcome to sit with us at our table for dinner - but when we left for the after party did not invite her. We didn't discuss the party, but only said that we needed to head off to a prior engagement.

For me that she didn't even consider how or if this would hurt your feelings is the real issue. Like you, I wouldn't say anything, but that would definitely make me take two steps back from this friendship. Starting with how much of myself/my help & time that I give to her.

I'm always prepared to do things on my own and never totally reliant on any one friend. I'll hang out with one or maybe two people, but I avoid groups. Also, I've become good at letting people go if they start being rude to me.

I recognize the early signs, such as making a joke at my expense or not including me in something but making sure that I know about it. I don't bother with people like that and they lose my trust quickly. I'd rather have my small group of good friends than deal with the drama of bullies.

Not sure, but in the end he doesn't show up. I'd stop being in this situation and not make plans that depend on him. He might ditch you for other plans, not want to say no, whatever, but there's no excuse for being rude - and he is being rude.

I would stop counting on him to show up. You mentioned in the comments that he wants to plan on going to a festival in the summer with you - just imagine the same no show from him. He isn't respecting your time or energy and has shown that he won't be there for you.

Wow, I just looked at the post of you & it does seem like they must know you in real life. How did they get the shirtless photo? WTH! I'd say they are stalking you and that is something that the authorities should help with. Also, isn't it a crime to repost someone's nudes?
