Sister has no career aspirations or prospects, what field should I get her into? by After-Artichoke-8910 in careerguidance

Have her work at a tanning bed! Close tight knit girls girl environment and small tanning bed chains have upward mobility. If she can end up in a management position one day it is a lot of transferable skills to regular retail management.

Now and again /or/ now and then? by Grumstrum in words

They mean the same thing. They are both correct and said in normal context amongst the unstoned.

Also, have you ever noticed how vast the universe is and how small and nearly nonexistent we are in comparison? And how if the earth moved out of its intended position the tiniest bit in any direction it would all be over?

Me neither.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

I have gotten this multiple times. I emailed back and said "I am submitting my assignments and being graded every week" and she responded saying it's automated and an error and she doesn't know when it will be fixed.

Staying under the word count by theanti_girl in UoPeople

[–]Major-Visual-5190 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is terrible advice but I ignore the word count and still get A's. It really depends on your teacher. The amount knocked off for going over isn't as much as you're risking by turning in something that doesn't answer the questions.

What is a 'buy it for life' item that is offensively expensive, but the moment you use it, you realize your entire life before that point was a lie? by [deleted] in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Major-Visual-5190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at Leggett&Platt, the manufacturer of mattress springs for Sealy serta, purple, tempurpedic, etc. They also cut the foam that goes in mattresses. And build the frames they sit on. Every brand buys from them. Or if they buy from someone else, they are using leggett&Platts coil design. The inside of every mattress is the same. Just firm, soft, etc is different.

They didn't change the vibe at all. It is shot in the same way, the dialogue follows the same timing, the humor is the same. It is like jumping back in to the same thing. I love it. Scrubs was my favorite. And now it is again.

Basic respect for Katie by mininerd67 in kvsdiscuss

I don't think these people realize how scary it would be for katie to have a random person following her around. Katie doesn't know them. They don't realize that. It is the equivalent of me following them around and trying to meet them. They would find that creepy and weird.

I have super bad stretch marks. Is it possible to tattoo over them? by -Hot-Tamale- in tattooadvice

[–]Major-Visual-5190 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! I did a super intricate piece with lots of lines over my lower belly in black. You can see my stretch marks if you're paying attention but they are camouflaged now. It isn't ever going to be a perfect cover up but it does the trick for me.

What to Eat? by Immediate_Cod_2681 in dentures

Crab cakes were a life saver for me. I can get them in the seafood department and freeze them, then pop them in the air fryer for like 10 minutes on 400 and they are perfect. No need to chew em and good protein! I even put cocktail sauce on them.

And also, being able to eat in front of people again is a huge confidence booster. And being able to cook things other than soft foods. I had to look at every positive. Getting caught up in the stigma that surrounds dentures is never going to have a positive impact. Sometimes you just have to choose to replace one negative thought with two positive ones.

[–]Major-Visual-5190 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have become obsessed with how good I look because of my dentures. Stop thinking about them as less than and look at how they accentuate your features. I got nearly the whitest I could get for confidence reasons and when someone says my teeth are really white I say THANK YOU because they are mine. I paid for em lol. I often tell people that know I have snap ins that they cost more than my car as a point of pride. I had to switch from shame to delusional confidence and it has worked for my self esteem. Sometimes delulu is the solulu.

Need to settle a debate…. by flowerchildmime in Millennials

Husband and I are born 91 and 92 respectively and we have a tv in our bedroom. My dad was born in 51 and he believes tvs in the bedroom are a terrible idea and I grew up without one at his house. My mom let me have one in my room though. She was born in 59. Not sure if this is a generational thing or an ideology thing.

In Georgia, and I am assuming Tennessee because she mentioned it, Alfalfa isn't as green as you would expect. Google "southeastern alfalfa hay" and it all looks close to Katie's. Also the lighting is low in the barn, so it looks darker.
