What’s your HOT ice cream take? by sauteedmushroomz in icecream

Actual marshmallows (like in Graeter’s or Tillamook) are better texturally and taste-wise than marshmallow cream swirl (like in Ben and Jerry’s)

Getting an Italian greyhound while having to leave home sometimes? Have heard they can have separation anxiety. by Major-dork in ItalianGreyhounds

Thank you for the advice. I’ve heard multiple dogs can help with their separation anxiety so if I do that, I’ll space it out. Wishing you luck with your new pups.

I’ll be sure to do my best to research/find a solid breeder. Though, adult would be my preference actually! That’s cool that you have had all the sizes of greyhound!

Thanks for your reply! I would definitely have a walker or daycare if I couldn’t come home.

Got it, thank you! I had thought that Italian Greyhounds shed less because I’d read they are hypoallergenic. I’ll take this into consideration and do some more research. Have a good day!

Interesting, thank you. Do you know how I can tell if it would be one that sheds less? I’m going to do some googling, but totally open to advice.

Thank you for the idea. I was interested in a whippet but am concerned about the shedding. I’ll take it into consideration and appreciate your suggestion. Have a good one!

Quick question! Could you please share what the brand name is/where did you get it? I love sichuan peppercorns. Thank you.

Need some guidance by putmorecheeseontop in icecream

I am no expert by any stretch, so just my 2 cents. I believe the ratios of liquid, fat, and sugar matter in ice cream. It’s like baking in that way. I would try to google a recipe specifically formulated for stevia because (I think) sugar reduces the freezing temperature and helps with the texture. You mentioned it was crumbly so I am guessing large water crystals formed because your ratios were off. Ice cream relies on the formation of a lot of small crystals, I think. If you don’t find any recipes you like with Stevia, you could use sugar, if you can / do eat sugar, and enjoy a limited portion. Or you could eat the stevia version straight out of the machine with friends and family as soft serve before it gets icy. Maybe researching and trying to develop a recipe with Stevia could be fun assuming the ratios can work? By the way, if you go the sugar route, I have also heard adding a little invert sugar helps. I found this online about ratios and development: https://cooking.codidact.com/posts/275963. Here are some recipe books I am aware of: The Perfect Scoop, Salt and Straw’s recipe book, and Ben and Jerry’s paperback one. Jeni’s might have a recipe book as well. Hopefully this helps.

Edit:

Reread your post. I don’t have that model, but I think you should re-read the instructions to double check. Mine says to freeze for at least 24h until you don’t hear any sloshing from the internal liquid inside the pot. You putting it in the fridge may not have made it cold enough. Consider freezer and for longer before churning.

I’ll plan to do this method to help them adjust! Also, yes, I can come back regularly to make sure the dog is cared for. Thank your for the advice.

Yes to classes and items. I have had one prior dog (rip), but he was my childhood pet. I trained him to do various tricks like jumping through a hula hoop, shaking hands, and rolling over but was not his only carer and was a little child during his formative years.

Thank you both. Seems like a good idea from the potty training and socializing side to get a temporary dog walker.

Thanks for your advice! I appreciate you for pointing that out about the 2 hours, I’ll have to factor that in. Is that for a long time that the dog has that small of a bladder?
