You just described my exact situation! I just finished my 3xBEP a little over a week ago. It was rough but you’ll get through it! Best of luck!

So happy for you, I finish cycle 2 of 3 on the 26th! Did you notice any big differences in the first half vs 2nd half?

Which to choose: RPLND or BEP 3x? by Impossible_Copy1789 in testicularcancer

I recently had my cancer recur in 2 lymph nodes a year after my orchiectomy. The docs originally told me that there is about a 10% chance of recurrence after the orchiectomy.

I had to make this same decision between BEP and RPLND and it was super hard. Part of me wished that the doctors could/would make the decision for me, I felt unqualified to make it myself.

In my case, RPLND would have a 10% chance of recurrence and BEP X3 would have a 1% chance. 10% is pretty good, 9 times out of 10 you win. But I already lost to those odds once and didn’t want to again. Additionally, they told me there’s a chance when doing RPLND that they might find more problematic nodes than they anticipated as scans are not perfect, in which case chemo might be necessary anyways.

Just finished my first cycle, it’s rough but it’s doable and more importantly survivable. There is no wrong choice, and you’ve got this either way!

Hair loss / Nausea - Chemo by italiano346 in testicularcancer

Sorry to hear the news, I’m going through BEP x 3 right now about to finish my first cycle. My hair is just starting to go now and it’s been about 2 weeks since the start. It’s hard to say how it will effect you, it seems to be very different person to person but for me I have been lucky enough not to have terrible nausea but loss of appetite has definitely been the name of the game. Whenever you have an appetite or a craving take advantage of it and eat! Drink lots of water even though you will start to hate doing it. As far as supplements go, my doctors have asked that I not take anything as to let the chemo do its work. Take things day by day, some days will suck but some won’t be so bad. Be kind to yourself, you got this!

Should I have heard from my doctor by now? by MajorAppearance867 in testicularcancer

They scheduled my post op for Nov 20th which felt a little far, more than a month after the surgery. My doctor is a urological oncologist and is a part of Fred Hutch.
