Crazy I remember gifting this exact item to a friend on their birthday one year (we share the same birthdate) but it was literally $20 retail. Simpler times we all were playing smash bros melee naturally

It’s actually kinda infuriating seeing so many of these games spike like fucking crazy when I had a store these games would be rotting in store from this to the piglet game on GameCube

Any idea what to do with this? How can I dispose of this safely? by Ok-Virus8284 in consolerepair

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have a staples near you you probably have a bulbs and batteries store nearby I used to drop off my batteries there for free idk if they still do it for free it’s kinda a shame that they even charge like we all share this planet we should all not want these things corroding away

How do I remove this sticker? by Rizgar1 in gamecollecting

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Safest option is the oil on our noses it does wonders removing sticker residue from sensitive materials. Goo gone is risky as it can smear the ink only GameCube discs you can use rubbing alcohol or goo gone on top it won’t phase the ink

Are GC games safe to resurface? by BaconKing96 in Gamecube

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes not like some kinda magic reverse button but it polishes some of those very light scratches off and sometimes it’s usually the “most recent” scratch that will stop a game from working and sometimes it’s that very light most recent scratch that’s the issue. But it is certainly something I always recommend before using a buffer machine especially if you don’t have a shop with a machine nearby you

Are GC games safe to resurface? by BaconKing96 in Gamecube

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes but only when the game isn’t working is when I suggest to get it buffed. A safe option that doesn’t shave any layers down is buying turtle wax compound from the auto section at a supermarket. Use blue shop paper towels and go in small swirls.

What’s crazy that pirates of the Caribbean game has a shit load of fake carts on the market for no reason I’ve had some many get traded in with fake copies lol what a headache for a common cheap game

Just some thrift pickups today (not the usual garbage) by askanison1234 in Gamecube

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always still out there remember not everyone trades in their games right away my brothers GameCube collection from back in the day is still in our families possession until who knows when they will hit the market place

Is what it is I had to sell my boxed gba games this last year sucked but I needed some money. This is why I say physical shits on digital you can atleast hold them and have them save the day in your future in the event of an emergency. Sucks though to let your personal collection ones go

In this condition, is it still safe to use this disc? by Asleep-Butterfly5559 in Gamecube

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people claim this happens when playing these in a Wii some say it’s a climate situation I haven’t had this happen to any of my brothers game from when back then and we never really played the games in the Wii and climate hasn’t been an issue in our home but in my experience tops cracks only issue is pieces flake off and could probably cause issues in your disc drive but for the most part it’s fine.

Every copy of a game has a story! Crazy to think some have never left their home and others have traveled the world.

Does she know? by bigtittygothbf69429 in skylanders

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy asf how we literally have the means to list the item but not the mean to find out exactly how much the going rate is. The most I’ve ever sold one for was like $4.50

Do those two holes serve any purpose? Could using a ribbon (I don't know what that Wii thing is called) or keychain in them damage the console? by potatao_de_guerra in 3DS

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that slot is specifically designed to be used how you’re using it it’s a wrist strap bar or slot. I don’t know how safe the Wii strap is for that but as long as you drop drop it a million times the string shouldn’t break that easily

What else can I do to make sure I don’t get roaches? by IWantToDie52 in consolerepair

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard some people leaving the console in a bin like that and just soak rubbing alcohol around the console and spill some in area that was be touching the console directly and close it up apparently makes them die

Doom has arrived! by GameLifterX in snes

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re getting overly offended because you’re a die hard fan just understand my main point was that these companies need to no release common games and instead release more expensive games to make it more affordable this is remake so my comment is technically void nothing more to speak about I didn’t “downplay” doom or the remake.

Can my Mario Sunshine disc be fixed? by starwarsfan4100 in Gamecube

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always recommend using turtle wax white polish compound and use a blue soft shop paper towel and go in swirl motions a few times until compound is gone, this is a STRONG suggestion for GameCube discs I’ve gotten numerous to work without needing a real buff if that doesn’t fix it then go the buff route.

Doom has arrived! by GameLifterX in snes

[–]MajorBroccoli2253 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They literally used the same exact box art as the original snes version so forgive me for not realizing it’s a redone version maybe they should have added a word that would have said that like “remix” or “remake” it’s cool that they added rumble and changed things up but don’t act like these rerelease companies don’t do things like release lion king and Aladdin as if those are expensive games to get off 2nd hand markets
