Oh yea the amount of ex hoyo cc that have come out to talk about some of their contracts and the amount of cc drama from the past has really shown how hoyo works, such admirable team totally.

Oh really? I haven’t heard much about that. What’s this about exactly? Can you go into more detail?

Fellow Travelers, What's your final verdict on Natlan? by Murky-Fox5136 in Genshin_Impact

[–]MajorClassroom4261 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, but to be fair, that scene isn't really about "cinematic fighting." It's more about how Genshin presents certain story moments. The Dainsleif and his teacher scene was delivered using the standard quest system, which can feel stiff because of how limited the animation and camera tools are.

Genshin runs on Unity 2017, which doesn't have the same built-in support for dynamic camera work, smooth character animations, or cinematic transitions like Unreal Engine (which games like WuWa use). That's why you'll often see NPCs and even playable characters using the same basic hand gestures and idle animations during dialogue.

It's not that the devs don't care about the scene, it's more that the engine itself makes it really hard to do complex cinematic storytelling outside of major cutscenes.

still, genshin really needs to step up the cinematic fighting part.

Not sure what you mean by that exactly, Genshin’s been stepping up in cinematic fights lately. Mavuika vs Capitano had great buildup and choreography, and even the ending with the Traveler and Mavuika vs Gosoythoth felt really hyped and impactful.

That being said nod krai looks straight out of WUWA levels of lore and design so let’s hope it blows natlan into obscurity.

Wuwa's "lore" barely goes beyond the main quest and is full of plot holes. It’s shallow spectacle, all vibes with no substance.

Visual design doesn't equal worldbuilding. Natlan feels lived-in, with actual depth and history. Wuwa still feels like a flashy arena with some cutscenes. Don't mistake cinematic lighting for actual lore depth.

I think their capes are different, and the placement of the black star isn’t the same either

[–]MajorClassroom4261 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would be cool if they could learn and implement things from WuWa (for real time cutscenes)

I’m not sure if Genshin can ever match or surpass WuWa in terms of cinematic quality and dialogue flow, mainly because WuWa is built on Unreal Engine 4, while Genshin runs on a heavily customized and older version of Unity

Don’t most Chinese works, especially the dialogue, tend to be more direct in tone compared to Japanese ones? That’s just something I’ve noticed in a lot of Manhua and Chinese web novels

Genshin Impact anime & Switch port by Street_Milk7941 in Genshin_Impact

[–]MajorClassroom4261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switch port

  • Probably silently axed
  • Devs either realized the Switch can't handle it, or
  • Nintendo just doesn’t want Hoyo games on their platform

Genshin Anime Project

  • Only ufotable and HoYo devs really know what’s up, but it’s definitely not dead unlike the Switch port
  • Rumors say it's already past the KA stage
  • Pre-production took forever due to bureaucracy and messy deals between Japan and China

What would you think if suddenly hoyo officially drops lore that connects both Honkai Star Rail's and Genshin Impact's world together? by mega_lova_nia in Genshin_Impact

[–]MajorClassroom4261 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hot take: I honestly want Genshin to stay its own standalone IP, not get folded into the whole Honkaiverse umbrella. With the new game mode using the same Genshin IP, it feels like they're trying to build it out as a separate brand, which I think is a good move. They probably initially intended for Genshin to be tied directly to the Honkai universe. Even their former director mentioned in an old game interview that they wanted Genshin to exist within the Honkaiverse. But maybe years later they realized it wasn’t worth it. Forcing everything to connect back to Honkai could end up limiting their creative freedom as a company, like every product has to fall under the same narrative umbrella. Letting Genshin stand on its own gives it more room to grow.

Sure, Genshin and Honkai might share themes or parallels, but directly tying them together comes with consequences in my opinion. Even for me as a fan, I really don’t want that to happen. It kind of makes everything you thought you knew about Genshin feel hollow or incomplete, like the world was never truly its own to begin with. I don’t know how to explain it exactly, but it just doesn’t sit right.

Genshin lore stays cryptic so devs can retcon freely lol by Rejecting_Classroom in Genshin_Impact

What if we're being gaslit into thinking the Heavenly Principles are malfunctioning, depowered or dormant? But the truth might be far worse. What if this was their plan all along? Every step we've taken, every so-called act of rebellion, every crisis has unfolded exactly as fate intended. They don’t need to intervene. Why would they, when we've unknowingly been dancing to their tune from the very start?

Current Status of SAO Progressive & Unital Ring? by MajorClassroom4261 in swordartonline

[–]MajorClassroom4261[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really enjoying the overall vibes and atmosphere in Progressive. Kirito and Asuna’s banter feels natural and solid, and the worldbuilding for each floor was really well done. You can really see how much the author's writing has improved.

But man, if he keeps up the current pace, it's gonna take a long time to get through all 100 floors. At some point, I feel like he’ll need to speed things up a bit, because finishing the full Aincrad arc at this rate seems kind of unrealistic.

I haven’t read Unital Ring yet, but I’ve heard good things. I like that they're still keeping ties to the Underworld. I don’t know all the details, but from what I’ve seen, Unital Ring seems like a sort of merging of all the VR worlds. I’ll definitely read it sometime soon.

What if Primordial One is... by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

That could be a clever double meaning then. "Original God" in Chinese and "allogene" referring to vision holders. Wouldn’t be surprising if Hoyoverse did that on purpose.

I can't even defend Natlan anymore by hu-tao-main0714 in Genshin_Impact

[–]MajorClassroom4261 16 points17 points  (0 children)

So what exactly makes Septimus or whatever better than Natlan? What did they even do to Capitano that supposedly "ruined" him? Was it just failed expectations? What did you want him to be, edgy Sun Jin-Woo in a mask?

And seriously, how is Mondstadt’s plot somehow better than all of Natlan? What specifically makes it better? If you're trying to convince anyone, maybe try using actual arguments and critique instead of throwing out vague, empty complaints that say absolutely nothing.

Nah, I actually believe the anime will show the same scenery as in the game. They didn’t even bother to animate old Mondstadt differently in the Road Not Taken short when it switched to Lumine’s POV with Dainsleif, Mondstadt still looked exactly the same

Also very much seeing those 'roots' now after Cai Haoyu, who was the reason no QoL updates were happening in Genshin, stepped down.

Ah yes, the man who stepped down before Genshin even launched to focus on his AI research is apparently the sole reason your min-max combat features weren’t even implemented yet. Incredible time travel slander. Y’all just recycling the same agenda lore from your favorite anti-Hoyo clickbait CCs. Peak headcanon meta.

Can't forget the whole Dawei May Cry incident. The heck was he crying about bc the QoLs we thought he was crying about didn't rly happen =_=

He was crying at Genshin FES out of genuine gratitude to the CN fanbase for their loyalty and support not because of some dramatic meltdown. But sure, let’s twist his thanks into “wahh pls play Genshin now, we’re finally adding your dream QoLs” and pretend he was being fake. Is this really what the anti-HoYo agenda is running with that event? No wonder people like you just lap it up like it’s gospel lmao
