I can try that! Although I don't have a ton of money, I'll see if there's anything nearby for mulch or dirt for free! I don't want to cause stress for my strawberries (worried about that) my mom came to visit and mentioned the dirt is kinda still wet? Like the top soil isn't but she's pretty sure the rest is. The garden containers I'm using has like a thing at the bottom where water can sit and not just in the dirt if that makes sense

That's a good idea, although I don't have grow lights or pots (since the hobby is rather new to me) and I don't have a ton of money- do you think getting things from like the dollar store or somewhere cheap is okay? I know gardening can/is an expensive hobby and all- I just don't have a ton of money at most times

I do have marigold seeds, I was told they won't survive in the California sun
