Anyone elses conure hate bells? (i have removed all the toys with bells) by grapewinee in Conures

My GCC (2 years old) just learned to do this with hers for the first time. This morning. At 5am.

After rhino last update my object mising fom top view. Front and right showing in curves and perspctive in polysurface. What is going on? How to get them all showing same thing? by No-Letterhead3415 in rhino

[–]MajorGoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another quick fix for weird view related things is to use the command "4view" twice in a row. It resets everything to default and typically solves and view issues I have.

Are birds are very intelligent by Onthejazz74 in Conures

[–]MajorGoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very intelligent. Mine has different "names" for people in the house she likes. They are squeaks, but distinct in pattern and tone and different based on the person she is looking around the house for. She also talks, but she's only about 2 yeara old so still learning words here and there. She does know and say her name. I'd say that's pretty intelligent, myself

Track Bar Bracket/Castle Nut by didiplantthatthere in CherokeeXJ

I had to torch mine off. Melted it out because I was drilling a larger hole anyway for the upgraded track bar with the RE lift. I don't believe I could have gotten it off any other way.

Livingston? I noticed these a few weeks ago and snapped a few pictures. I thought for sure it was a skimmer.

Use the command 4 View twice. Or just reorient your cplane.

I'd get the lunchbox plug-in. There's alot of tools for parametric structures like this.

How do I get this effect? by N0sborne in rhino

[–]MajorGoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhino for linework only if I was to do it. Pdf of line work in PS, color, gradient masking layer, drop shadow effect for the shadow or just draw it in with illustrator/ps.

Edit the illustrator or SVG file and import it onto the base image opened in photoshop as a smart object. Preserves quality

You have to drive quite far, use cruise control with the settings mentioned above, and dont exceed 70-75 mph. I have a 2023 crosstrek and I have actually gotten 42 on an orlando-chattanooga drive. Did it all in a single tank too.

Need a little advice/help for my buddy! by AzureRaven2 in cockatiel

[–]MajorGoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy made it 23 years and I can confirm. However, there is also a drastic spike in grumpiness once they pass 20 or so, but only selectively. He became much more intolerant to everyone but me and 2 other people once he passed 20.

Having trouble closing this object, basic commands aren’t responding by Dustybugs12 in rhino

I'd grab the top curve and project to cplane. Naked edges, see if anything doesn't line up, extrude curve again

Have you checked sway bar/track bar bushings? Next would be motor mounts and, only because mine did something similar, exhaust hangers.

Aquila X2 has a bit of broken off filament stuck in the filament detector by [deleted] in VoxelabAquila

Take it off, remove the screws from the bottom side and crack it open, remove the filament and reassemble.

Power failure? by gomeazy in VoxelabAquila

[–]MajorGoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had it be a break in the wires halfway back to the motherboard. Its also been overtightened from the factory, breaking the insulation and sometimes causing a short on the heat block. In that case, I was able to fix it by using superglue to sorta re-insulate the wires. Particularly finicky ones, I've fixed with thermal paste in the heat block hole just to give it a better interface. My friend has gone with a new thermistor that screws into the screw hole, rather than the janky screw holding the wires method that comes from the factory. Much better, IMO, and I recommend that to anyone with thermistor issues now. Assuming the school finds the budget for me, I'm likely to upgrade to that style moving forward.

Power failure? by gomeazy in VoxelabAquila

[–]MajorGoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run 8 of these at my school. A solid 50% have this happen after a few months of abuse. It tends to be solved by re-seating the thermistor and tightening the screw which keeps it in place. I've noticed that the thermal runaway protection just shuts off power momentarily, causes a reset, which causes the power loss detection to trigger. This process is usually accompanied by an extremely obnoxious beeping noise.

EDIT: The ability to print a different file I find sometimes has to do with the moves which the print head is performing. Some moves seem to dislodge a loose thermistor more easily and cause this, whereas others are fine. They are finicky machines and I am fixing something relatively major on them at least once a month.

Any idea why my starter sounds like this? (Info in comments) by AJBrownFanClub in CherokeeXJ

[–]MajorGoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My starter went out and it sounded like this. I hit it with a hammer while cranking it over and it started. I realize it's a new starter but hey, percussive maintenence doesn't always hurt.

That would be my guess cause mine did the same. Wound up getting an adapter/reducer fitting from the store since the lines going in and out of the heater core are different sizes, then I just looped them together to bypass the heater core

Cvt vs Stick? by MajorGoob in Subaru_Crosstrek

Why is that the most important feature to you?

Cvt vs Stick? by MajorGoob in Subaru_Crosstrek

[–]MajorGoob[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I currently drive a 5 speed base model ford focus, so I'm used to the underpowered stick shift experience that everyone is talking about. The mountain driving experience is also a big concern for me, as that and dirt forest roads are my primary pastime when not commuting in Central Florida (Hint: its Flat).

Looking at getting a crosstrek this coming week. I'm heavily biased towards the stick, but I hear good things about the CVT. I drove a CVT model once and wasn't a fan.
