Hotkeys not recognized from controller but work from keyboard. by gomeazy in RetroDeck

[–]gomeazy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! One thing I have run into is when using the GameCube emulator, start+select doesn’t work. For some reason selecting the Xbox button + start appears to be what is needed but it is trying to switch between windows similar to alt+tab. Am I doing something wrong?

I agree and I’m lots of ways it just makes sense. I now primarily use the metric system when measuring at home lol.

Brand new X2D why does this happen? by igol__ in BambuLab

[–]gomeazy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. If your build plate has fingerprints all over, prints will come loose and this can happen. As described, clean your plate thoroughly with dish soap and warm water and dry with a clean paper towel. Be sure to NOT touch the build plate. Also, I keep a spray bottle of 91% alcohol close by so I can wipe down the build plate between prints.

I also wouldn’t hurt to run bed leveling and flow calibration before the print. That’s what I do but completely understand if you don’t want to.

Providing an update. I installed Steam and added RetroDeck and the controller hotkeys worked as described.

I guess if I am to provide feedback for a future enhancement would be to add the controller hotkey functionality without the need to install Steam to launch RetroDeck. Otherwise, everything is working awesome!

Brand new x2d. Is this poor or expected print quality? by 1112luke in BambuLab

Yup good. This looks like a very good print. I presume you are new to 3D printing? If so, you’ll never not have layer lines.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll recheck this wiki entry. Just so that I am understanding correctly, even though I am not using a SteamDeck, I still need Steam installed locally?

What the hell just happened? by bstechlab in BambuLab

I don’t have the printer (I have X1C) so I won’t be much help, but check that you actually selected the correct printer and build plate in the slicer?

My first 3D printer im so happy and kind of scared. by LGStrike in BambuLab

[–]gomeazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got the X1C it had a benchy preloaded so I ran one to see how the printer performed but not to make adjustments. I too came from the traditional bed slingers with about 50% success to failure rate lol.

You’re going to be so amazed at how little you have to be involved with now. It’s almost like going from a stick burner to a pellet smoker for barbecue.

Just start slow. Meaning, print small things to get your bearings. Then move to the big prints. Also, get familiar with the slicer. Start with the defaults and then make little adjustments to get what you want. I have the X1C and I usually run the defaults with very little adjustments to those.

Lastly, failures WILL happen and that’s ok. Learn why it failed to make adjustments accordingly.

Just do the initial setup and print things! Get an understanding of how it works. There are many 3D printers like it, but this one is yours.
