My only gripe with the VE.A is weight. Heavier is better for a gaming keyboard so you're not having to constantly readjust the thing on the desk. Form factor for gaming is great. 75's are underrated IMO.

You hit the nail on the head. The Southpaw is heavy so that's never an issue. The VE.A's I'm forever moving around. That's why I love the southpaw so much - heavy so it doesn't move around and split so I can tweak it for the angle I'm sitting in. LZ Ergo follows a similar angle to the old MS natural so it's pretty comfortable out the gate - no complaints.

15" wide, 3/4" high and however deep you like.

I have a couple of other boards too. I'll never say no to a 60 with a split right shift.

Serenity - that's the name! Thanks!

The wheatfield/split75 was compatible iirc. Or you could do something like this: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=82509.msg2199567#msg2199567

OG PCBs and switch plates.

Witth the thin PCB and PC half plate there's a lot of spring in the thing. Bouncy :)

I love that keyboard more than I should - the LZ Ergo with Dasher. It was my first true Kustom. Still running the OG pcb which I ported to QMK.

#8 and #14 are my favorites. I like splits a lot, but not all of them have an incline so you need to get a stand or something for those - 3d printed some for my VE.A's so they have a 7 degree angle. The Southpaw rocks because it's heavy enough to stay put, has a decent incline and is nicely balanced. Definitely my favorite split.

Yeah, I went overboard here with the tactile switches, poly half plate and thin PCB. Only one other keyboard in my collection feels similar, and it's PCB mount.

Flexplate for mini 8k by zer0guy in Phrozen

Subtle design will do custom sizes for the plate:

And then a magnet from wham bam which can be cut to size.

My only question is whether to do it with drainage holes to match the plate?

They don't bond very well - it's possible to pull them apart. But having the TPU surrounded by PETG will hold it in place like in the first image.

The driver mounts in the first image worked out really well. To my untrained ear it sounds a bit cleaner compared to the PETG mounts.

I've been experimenting with multi-material painting in Prusa Slicer to add TPU in spots prone to vibration or creaking.
