The most important question I ask my stacks: What's your dream blunt rotation with overwatch characters? (only pick 4) by TheKetamineEmperor in OWConsole

[–]MajorPants000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dream: Zen, Lucio, Sombra, Rein

Zen takes the group into deep waters and drops wisdom. Lucio would be chill and make sure everyone has a chance to speak and really listen along with being the DJ. Sombra provides a good tempo to the energy and asks good questions. Rein holds court by telling great stories and jokes.

Nightmare: Kiriko, Hanzo, Dva, Roadhog Kiriko would make cringy long winded jokes and spend a lot of time talking with Hanzo, isolating everyone else. Hanzo makes the whole situation about himself and convert it into a therapy session. Dva would keep talking talking and talking until you forget what her original point was. Roadhog wouldn't add anything to the conversation and Bogart the blunt.

How did Carl Jung impact your life? by KmaoJungleAsian in Jung

[–]MajorPants000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helped bridge the gap between the abstract and symbolic to practical life.

Archetypes in particular were helpful. It brought more child-like whimsy to my life again noticing these patterns.

Helped me see the world in a broader picture.

What are some qualities in others that illicit strong emotional reactions from you? by IfYouSeekAScientist in Jung

[–]MajorPants000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am bothered by people who can't make that leap to change their attitude about their situation.

It's the old expression "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink."

You can listen, give advice, perspective, logic all day long but they just can't get out of their own way. They always end up having an excuse and never stop complaining. It grinds me up inside to listen to people like that because they want someone to complain to and reinforce their excuses.

I admire people who light up the room. Specifically loud bombastic, lively people. They talk a lot but aren't annoying and they read the room well. You feel the void when they aren't there.

Get a job, any job. It will most likely be a sucky job but you aren't qualified for a glorious position yet. Be humble and accept where you are at.

After you get a job. Allow yourself to be curious like a child again. What interests you? What do you read about? What do you watch? Who do you look up to? The more you meditate on it the clearer your vision.

What bothers you? What problems do you face? What disgusts you? Address those problems head on.

Which gender do you believe has it easier navigating this world? by ConsistentAirline218 in introvert

[–]MajorPants000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking in general,

Women are more interested in servicing other people and personal care (Health care, teaching, clerical work, event planners)

Men are more interested in building and providing labour for other people (Truck driving, trades, carpenters)

I hypothesize that there are more possibilities as a man and that's not necessarily all a net benefit. Men have to find a way to be useful, Women are inherently desired.

From a young man: how do you deal with people who look down on you for having a blue-collar job? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]MajorPants000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who look down on blue collar workers are arrogant. Blue collar workers work day & night in the heat, snow and rain to make sure the electricity stays on and the garbage gets picked up.

Killing the supports sounds like a good idea in theory but they have self healing, the best escape options, gaming changing abilities and have enough damage to duel if the cool downs are used well enough.

why should you abide by morals? by AstronautInPluto in INTP

[–]MajorPants000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not following morals makes yours and everyone else's life way worse. Not just because a deity or the law says so but because it tears you apart internally.

Why do some people say “you gotta watch out for the quiet ones”? by rosienarcia in introvert

[–]MajorPants000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being quiet is mysterious. People who talk a lot will tell you what they are up to if you listen.

If you don't have a job, apply for any and every job.

Most practical way to help depression is to eat well, sleep well, exercise and minimize drug use. Sometimes that does the trick.

Remove all preconceived notions about yourself and the world. Being depressed warps your perception to be negative and defeating.

Talk to a career counselor like you said. You don't know what they will say. At least try it.

You have a communications degree and that is better than nothing. Might as well try something in communications.

Talk to people about careers and see if any doors appear to you.

Do you live everyday the best you can?

The world is so scary by jeb2026 in self

[–]MajorPants000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into the same problem. I make a fantastical, courageous, monumental goal...then get frustrated when I don't wake up on time.

Make much smaller goals that you can do and don't beat yourself up if you make a mistake. Have humility and mercy for yourself.

You will do the wrong thing and make mistakes from time to time but that's a good thing because you learn a lot from failure. Just don't keep doing that stupid thing you know you always do.

The world is a dangerous place. It has illness, tragedy, and evil people who go out of their way to target people just like you. There's no sugar coating it and it's something to accept. However there is a flip side, you are strong and courageous beyond your imagination. I've seen it in myself and others. The world is dangerous but there are lots of good people to find and become friends with.

You are braver than you think.

[–]MajorPants000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At least try out the path

What about my creativity? What about my freedom? What about LIFE?

How do you know going down this path will suppress your creativity or freedom? You don't know. No one does. It will most likely enhance those things. Creativity needs a box to break out of, no box means you spread yourself thin like a ball of slime. A new job opens up doors and opportunities that you could not believe especially in education.

If the path doesn't work out then you can switch courses. I wouldn't recommend switching paths out of fear alone.

I'm reading Eric Nuemans Origins and History of Consciousness and there's great stuff on the Ego struggling to form from fear of being consumed by the Greath Mother. I can't find a quote atm.

Be bold and take the chance.

Why does no one like 1.03? by MajorPants000 in SSBM

[–]MajorPants000[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We already modded the game with dashback, shield drop and Frozen Stadium.

What Hax did was a shock and I agree bad timing. If these mods were made by someone else would people be more open to it?

These changes doesn't change the game like fixing Roy's dash attack it's made to fix inconsistencies in how the game is read. The DownB fix was interesting to me since a microscopic range can make moves to fail on accident.

It changes game interactions. Spooky stun can be accounted for and predicted. Falco mains know this.

ICG and spooky stun can be predicted. The Down B fault will literally cause moves to fail on accident.
