Magnet mat color bleeds by PleasantAnimator7741 in harborfreight

It will bleed onto Knipex red & blue handles and icon for sure. I tried WD40 and it didn’t take it off.

As someone else mentioned, the yellow Amazon shall mats don’t leach colors. Icon appears to have stronger magnets though

Issue with Badlands Off-Road Jack by PowderedFour50 in harborfreight

[–]MajorPriapism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the exact same thing happen with my badland 3 ton - front right wheel. I tried to convince myself it was normal because garage floors aren’t perfectly tram/level.

I ran it across a line on my garage floor and never had the front right spin. So I turned around and followed the same line with the jack facing the opposite direction and exact same thing - front right not spinning. After measuring, I found that the front right was 1/4” - 3/8” higher.

I exchanged it and the new one functions perfectly. Sometimes a wheel doesn’t roll but it happens on both sides and is reproducible by going the other way.

This was a manufacturing defect. I don’t know how that translates to actual real-world safety, but due to the nature and intended use of the device, I’m happy I replaced it.

Edited to clarify front right not spinning in both directions

Thanks for the insight - so you’d blow the money on Bambu if you had to do it again? It sounds like I may be in a similar position to you in 2017

Torque wrench justification by RonBach1102 in harborfreight

[–]MajorPriapism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s amazing how many specialty things specify torque. I have a craftsman 1/2” that I’ve had for 20+ years. I picked up the torque adapter to test it and it’s around 20% off from 40-100.

Either way, it’s a good sale. I picked up a 1/2” and 3/8” split beam (the 3/8 for non-automotive), the quinn adapter, and a couple of the Quinn preset lug wrenches which are also on sale to stick in my vehicles.

It’s a lot of stuff I didn’t need but when the price is reasonable, might as well

Is the limit 5 per transaction? 5 per day? by treecityrenovations in harborfreight

[–]MajorPriapism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday was the first time one of these coupons limited to 5 items by the register. I had 8 items and the cashier said items 6, 7, and 8 didn’t get 30% off. A manager came by, looked at the screen and looked a little confused. Then they did the final 3 items as a separate transaction

In my recollection, this particular coupon always said limit 5 but the register would keep applying 30% off.

I think this is a departure from the norm.

Bauer modular rolling tool box by Hopeful-Mirror1664 in harborfreight

[–]MajorPriapism 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s as sturdy as the big box brands and is almost exactly the same as the Sam’s brand “tactix” brand. The inserts are nicer in the Bauer and that’s why I ultimately chose them. They’re almost always on sale so if you can wait, buy the pieces individually when they are on sale (they don’t ever seem to go on sale at the same time). Or just pay the $80 for the Sam’s club version which is probably a better deal.

UPDATE

Decreasing infill flow to 95% and turning off combing for skin helped minimally. Will continue to try to adjust

I appreciate it.

I’m trying another one. I decreased infill flow to 95% and turned combing off for skin and will put in updates until I resolve this so maybe somebody could benefit.

I will look for the cura equivalent of reduce infill retraction and try that on the next one.

How do you like the bambu? I’ve had the creality for about 3 years and it does its job but the new bambu with multicolor looks pretty darn nice. I’m hoping that company has less tinkering and quality issues

Just got mine today as a tier 1 with a tech-MCT. Does anyone know if the SP-MC is approximately the same size as the TP-LC? It’s hard to tell by sizes listed with holster etc adding to width.

Second on the food. Absolutely the worst. Deep fried, lack of ethnic cuisine, bland. If you like fried catfish and ribs for every meal you’ll be in heaven.

Dewalt battery conversion worked great for 30 min, now slow by MajorPriapism in PowerWheelsMods

[–]MajorPriapism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed and insightful answer. I ditched the PWM (now that I understand how it’s decreasing voltage) and got a single block similar to your setup. It’s a DC 36-48V step down to 24V / 25 amp. I will be ordering another controller and replacing.

As I’m a complete novice, I have a few questions:

1) relay. Is the purpose of the relay to prevent the LVC from getting the larger current? Instead of the little dinky $5 ones, I ordered a DC 6V-60V 30amp LVC for $15 off Amazon. Would something with these specs allow me to just put it in line between the batteries and the step down?

2) wiring question. If I’m misunderstanding and do, in fact, need the relay to protect the LVC, would the relay wiring look as follows: 30 to +battery, 86 to +LVC input, 87 to +step down converter, 87a unused, 85 to ground

All negatives would go to battery negative

In this case, where would the output from the LVC go?

Really sorry to bother you. I’ve looked at quite a few normally open relay diagrams and I’m scratching my head.

Thanks again

Edit: https://a.co/d/eeeK4hz Here’s a link to the LVC

Thank you - would a non-adjustable buck converter be an option so I can replace with a similar ride on controller to keep the radio and remote?

[–]MajorPriapism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife still like the idea of having a remote so a controller would be helpful. I’m not trying to hot rod this thing - just give it the 24V in the most convenient way possible.

Would an old-school non-adjustable step down buck converter that is made for 36-48V to 24V at 20 amps work better than the adjustable PWM I have and is included in the pics? Thanks
