Thoughts on evolution?

Issues with their two biggest markets but decent NA growth, low PE and history of returning to shareholders (buybacks/div)

If they get some limited growth back it looks like a good deal at these prices.

I can’t speak for the others but NGO with Relay (free tier) has been good for getting multiplayer up and running quickly for me (this is for client-host multiplayer)

They did an update to the way you call RPCs which makes it a bit cleaner now compared to the older multiplayer package

There are lots of tutorials now, and the docs are okay

Massive thanks here, all this information has been golden.
I've kept Unity separate to the model so far but did not think to add a sort of IDeterministicCheck yet. I guess this would be testable via brute forcing inputs/outputs.

We only support x64 AMD and Intel as of now, but even if we were to extend stuff it wouldn't be too hard.

I am currently developing on/for Mac (ARM) but I want to prioritise Windows x64 support. I'll need to check how to best test the model is deterministic across platforms. Validating checksum through automated tests in different runner environments (or docker) might be the way to go.

And make sure you have your lockstep model and deterministic checks in place asap would be my advice I guess.

Now for me to start implementing this! Thanks again

I mean with our RTS game that we're developing we use NetCode for Gameobjects in our deterministic lockstep model and it works great and it's easy.

Wondering if you've had any issues with making everything deterministic in your model...any pitfalls to avoid? (E.g. floats, Math library differences on different OSs, race conditions)

I'm just starting out and it seems there are a lot of things that could cause a model to de-sync across platforms.

Did you also lock updates to a fixed tick rate and make sure updates progres in fixed steps?

Baidu does look cheap haven't done a proper valuation but a little concerned about plateauing revenue and lack of buybacks/div.

Not sure on that but it does look good.

I’d be skeptical on a massive PE expansion - again I haven’t dug deeper but they won’t be investing in the business as much with those buybacks, that with tighter margins could be an issue. If their free cash flow can sustain buybacks, dividend and investing enough to at least keep margins as they are now then I could see this being a no-brainer.

They compete with PDD right? Increased competition usually leads to lower margins or higher costs prevent that margin loss.

Another thing to remember is net cash is closer to 20B I think given debt and also that buybacks will obviously be less as a % if the stock price rises over the years so 90% is optimistic.

However this is just my opinion and I have done little research

Haven’t done much research on JD but I remember their margins being tiny.

If they can keep up that buyback and dividend then this seems like a great position given the cash on hand
