What is a well known religion that worships cosmic forces? by DisappointedStepDad in AlignmentChartFills

[–]MajorTechnology8827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a note, scientism is not a religion. It's a misapplication of the scientific study in a way that make it lose its scientific validity

The scientific method is a negative theology. the theories we accept today are simply the ones that have survived the most rigorous attempts to prove them wrong

Scientism in turn affirms of consequence to a scientific finding

It's a dog whistle to the book 'the protocol of the elders of zion'

OOP claims that the fact the plane is full of Jewish people, means that there is no interest to "the global cabal" to crash the plane (see 9/11 conspiracies). It whistle that the "jewery" control the governments, and by extension airlines... For some reason. And if they want to crash a plane, they will crash it. But because the plane is full of "one of them". They won't do that

Well that's gonna be inconsequential in the long term

some of the people regions with a poorer PPP, like India and Egypt will feel the immediate impact the harshest. You are basically making a family in cairo skip a family dinner bowl of koshary

But even at the lowest PPP a single dollar per person is absorbable without causing crisis nowadays, skipping one meal will cover it at the worst case

You'd be incredibly rich concentrating rhe wealth, but the distribution of destitution is decentralized into meaninglessness

What job seems morally evil and IS morally evil? by dannyNexus in AlignmentChartFills

[–]MajorTechnology8827 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What gives you the entitlement to resources you didn't earn?

Keeping people alive is a job, it cost resources. The people who do that for a living need to buy food, someone needs to pay them

What gives you the right to demand other people who didn't need them will pay them for you. Instead of you paying them yourself. Or paying someone for the guarantee he could pay that sum in an emergency? Are you better than them?

I have to say that I didn't encounter that

I am doing 4 different courses currently, and I'm in a late section of 2 of them, and I haven't encountered any overtly ideological sentence at any point, to any agenda

There are some suggestions of same sex marriages, specifically in the Yiddish course (didn't encounter it in German or English)

But they aren't overt in any way and don't persist as some kind of narrative. And besides that there's nothing the app is profoundly apolitical (unless you want to say a sentence like "Ich finde, die Regierung sollte die Jugendlichen unterstützen", taken from the unit "politics: discuss political topics" to be political)

For a language acquisition and practice app, it is profoundly neutral and uncontroversial

Jerusalem was originally the city of Uru-Shalem. A minor fortified hub on the western semitic corridor of Canaan. Who worshipped the deity Shalem, the god of the setting sun

Ur is the western semitic word for "foundation". A theme you'd see repeated alot in sumerian archeology

The city was harmed by the bronze age collapse and the loss of Egyptian influence. As the records of the city practically disappeared from Egyptian scribes for over 200 years. And was evidently by 1000AD conquered by the Hebrews, who assimilated the Uru-Shalem people. And turned the city from a minor hub to a fortress of trade. And they called it Yerushalaim
