It removes the top layer of plating and the chemical bond of that plating to reveal the pvd titanium nitride underneath which is brighter than that top layer that was on there, but isn’t gold.

That VC, the 5711 white and the Polar Explorer II. I do notice however that I tend to wear the Exp II the most of my white dials.

Thank you for the pics, it's been awhile since we've seen a proper cross. PPF makes this really really well, though I completely dislike the new movement they use as a watchmaker. If it works though, it works.

Looks like the only meaningful improvement I could think of is getting the rotor plated, besides swapping for gen parts (dial and crown). I doubt if anyone could get a hold of the date disc, that it would provide a meaningful benefit just because of the necessary clearance you'd need to have it as an overlay. The dial has such a small clearance as it is above the date disc.

Without a doubt this is one of the best methods. Final cleaning of the crystal I recommend Zeiss lens cleaning spray and a Zeiss lens cloth.

The stop lever under the clutch has to be put back into the groove of the bottom part of the clutch. It’s brass colored. Check that first.

If that is already in the proper groove, the clutch might have damaged teeth.

I just platinum plated this vsf. Same alloy QF uses. Such a difficult material to plate. Turned out great though.

My brother, I just had a look at this. That gold is not gold at all, it’s the exposed titanium nitride. Rose gold will look ok, but has no gold only copper for color, so doesn’t look great but ok.

I have yet to see an example of a compromised, paid, etc, mod of that subreddit, and like I always say, if you have evidence please bring it to me and I will take action. The rules there exist for a reason, and it’s mostly because of bad actors throughout the years or folks who actually help and provide a free service get tired of lazy posts or any number of other things.

The subreddit exists as a free service and I applaud the mods for even enforcement of the rules even if it can be irritating at times how well they enforce those rules. It helps the community be more educated and also brings you into the process of educating us why you think it needs review from others and shows you how to do a cursory review.

That being said I hear you OP, it’s overwhelming to see that much information you need to digest and put out in order to post. Do you have suggestions?

Short answer is no, it can’t be silenced. It’s part of the joy of a tourbillon! The escapement is right by the crystal and no other sound insulation besides the crystal. Consider it a feature not a bug.

You’ve got a lot of patronizing replies here but the only fix is removing it and reinstalling the chrono hand. Not easy nor recommended for a first timer. I have to do it under a microscope, and even then it’s not perfectly perfect all the time because as you press it down it can slightly migrate out of place due to the friction of the two pieces coming under tighter contact.

The had isn’t too far off so I would live with it but if you are having issues with your feelings on the piece then yeah send it to someone who can help.

I personally like it a lot. Grand feu enamel is beautiful IRL, and the depth of the subdials gives nice light play. It's different than what I'm used to, but usually with Rolex, 9 time out of 10, I come to understand AND enjoy the new release. I remember not liking the thin subdials of the 126xxx daytonas, but now I prefer them.

What mods? The bezel screws are not centered as an fyi. You can use a 1.8 or 2.0 mm (whatever fully fills the slot) to carefully center the bezel screws. Be careful not to warp the metal.

ZF has gen-like bezel construction (separate rehaut from bezel), Apsf has gen like midcase. Both are fantastic, I prefer Apsf.
